I agree that all “distracted driving” is bad, however, the amount of lives being lost to this modern phenomenon is alarming to say the least. I dont know...I dont believe this is a personal liberty issue as much as it is a public safety one. It is illegal to consume certain levels of alcohol/drugs as they may alter perception and judgment to a point that endangers your safety and the safety of others while operating a motor vehicle, how is this different? Again, I know that all distracted driving creates a potential danger, but they just are not finding many open road maps or lipsticks beside victims of motor vehicle accidents these days.

Many inexperienced and some experienced drivers are involved in accidents where they overcompensate when they drive off the edge of the road.

It is so simple just to drive down the edge and come back on the road slowly.

Inexperience was a major factor here as well as texting.
