Cain has criticized Romney on 4 different issues (jobs, Romneycare, missing debates, tax plan) and he has criticized Perry on 2 issues (the rock, immigration). How exactly is that considered “tacking along with Romney” again?

Well, Cain’s affinity for Romney and aversion to Perry is well-documented here. If you really want proof of that, stick around.
It’s not what issues he discusses. It’s his “I could support Romney, but I could never support Perry” comments. And his “Romney would be a good choice for President”, and his “I’d love to be Romney’s VP”, and his campaign’s announcement that they were going to target conservatives and leave Romney alone, so they were the last conservatives standing and all the conservatives would have to support him or else.
Of course, I’m not sure Cain has really “attacked” Romney on anything other than Romneycare.
