Fwiw, Perry’s host for the event called the Howie Carr show today, and swore Perry hadn’t been drinking. He said he had no idea if any ‘controlled substance’ - Howie’s suggestion - was at play. After Howie played a very protracted clip, ALL the texts he read did, however, accuse Perry of inebriation. One interesting comment came out to the effect that Perry has back problems. Could painkillers produce the effect of a buzz?
I stand by my original comments, though it appears an alcohol buzz has been ruled out. I still believe a chemical substance was involved. This was a different Perry than I’ve seen/heard in the past. It wasn’t just a relaxed, happy Perry; it was an altered Perry.
He had back problems, and did some sort of weird medical procedure for it. I’ve been on some of those painkillers, and I’ve felt like at the first two debates he looked like he might be on drugs. But they don’t make you look drunk, they can make you tired.
But they don’t effect you for 30 seconds, and then you are fine for 5 minutes, and then back and forth again.
You know, the parts people are saying look odd actually remind me of his speech introducing Sarah Palin at one of his campaign rallies when he was running for re-election.
Maybe someone could dig up that video and post it.
Anyway, the charge was that he was drinking, and that has been pretty soundly refuted, much to the consternation of the Cain supporters who were looking for a real pick-me-up after sending all their money to Cain and still having him talking about this stupid harrassment story. What will they do when they can’t run around calling Perry a drunk and a homosexual?
ON second thought, they didn’t actually NEED any evidence for that.
