Peshawar, FATA Contractor association has staged a protest against FATA secretariat Peshawar on Tuesday. They hold banners of their demand. More then 100 Contractor has participated in demonstration.
The FATA contractor president Haji Zahir Jan said that they pay 6% tax to the government but there is no detail of these taxes in Income tax office.
He said that the Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa province is the victim of Flood and terrorism, so in current scenario the government pardons province from income tax.
The president of FATA Contractor said that the government releases 50% funds to urban areas, But the FATA secrete release the 4.75% funds for tribal areas. He further said the government and international donors gives Millions of dollars for development in FATA, but FATA secretariat use the money for their own purpose. He blamed the that administration Hired the Admin officer Amir Shahbaz whose already Retired chief Engineer of the irrigation department , the hiring of Admin officer Monitoring is the violation of supreme court orders.
The contractor Haji Zahir Jan said that contractor worked in bad condition at tribal agencies, even Taliban threats us for not working in tribal belt. So many times they burn the machinery. He said that some of our member contractor killed by Taliban in tribal area during developmental works and we were still facing threat there. But unfortunately FATA secretariat didn’t give any compensation to contractor.
He demands from the KP to release the funds to FATA contractor and also 6 % tax which rebate from FATA contractor.
