When Gov. Sarah Palin was deciding whether or not to get into the presidential race, Karl Rove was popping up on Fox News to talk about why her skin was too thin for the job. And when Gov. Rick Perry was thinking about his entrance into the race, Rove was Johnny-on-the-spot with reasons why a Perry candidacy would not be viable either.
Now Roves moved on to Herman Cain, whose candidacy hes doing all he can to sink, sidetrack, or
On Fox News this past Monday, Rove did his best Mr. Rogers imitation by holding up a small dry-erase board with words (and phrases) for the day like abortion, neoconservative, Afghan policy, etc. According to Rove, Cains gaffes in these areas have rendered him unelectable.
How so? Well, according to Rove: I think it has created an image of him as not being up to this task. [And] thats really deadly.
Of course, its important to keep in mind the fact that Rove is an establishment Republican who supports McRomney And if someone really wants to focus on gaffes, they should focus on McRomneys deception on hiring illegal lawn care workers, his full-blown support of Roe v. Wade not so long ago, his support of the assault weapons ban, his support of the Brady Bill, and his ongoing belief in manmade global warming, among other things.
But I guess all that wouldnt fit on Roves little board.
Anyway, while on Fox News Monday Rove talked about how there was a hint that Cains numbers had peaked sometime between October 6th and October 10th, and they had begun to slide slightly since then. In other words, Move on, people; theres nothing to see here.
However, the latest Zogby poll, taken October 18-21, well after Cains supposed slide had begun, shows .

well, that’s how I took it to start with. Then I was going to follow up with “what difference does that make”. The big money people seem to be the ones that choose our candidates anyway.

There's the primary and then there is the general. Most posters here are politically naive. They think that because they are conservative, the country is conservative and a hard right conservative. They talk about Ronald Reagan in 1980 as if America is even close to being the same country we were in that time. We aren't and aren't even close. FR type conservatives are about 15%-20% of the voting population, if that. Sure they can dominate a topic here on FR and delude themselves into thinking that they are a majority. I assure you Conservatives are not a majority of the voters in the United States. So be careful about who you wish to nominate. You may win the nomination and lost the general.
Let me remind some of you posters here. We had hundreds and hundreds of posters back a year ago who were just giddy about Christine O'Donnell who was running for the Senate in Delaware. Freepers and others of the same mind nominated O'Donnell instead of Mike Castle. Rove said she would lose and lose big time. People here insisted that if we just wished and hoped and prayed that somehow she could win. She got massacred election day just as Rove said she would. So now we have another Democrat in the Senate for 6 years. People here would be wise to go back and review this. The same thing happened in California with Tom Campbell, who if Republicans had half a brain would be the junior Senator from California instead of Barbara Boxer. RINO the Freepers said time and again. So they went with Carly Fiorina and they went down in flames. Rove was right about that as well.

The fact that people, especially FReepers, are gullible enough to actually believe FNC is conservative and continue to watch it amazes me.

it’s the values.
it’s always the values.
what values does X support?
what values does y support?
values is what counts...period.

I couldn’t answer that with any confidence but I would guess not very accurate.
But those are pretty long odds. I mean if it was 50%rommney and 25% cain I would say “that means nothing”. But cain has 6.5%! Even if its off by 100% that’s still a pretty strong statement for cain losing the nomination.
I’m not a romney fan btw. Last election I was sick seeing the establishment republicans get the nomination and then drag us along by giving the Veep spot to a true conservative. Why can’t it be the other way around? why can’t a true conservative get the nomination and then drag the establishment republicans along by handing the veep spot to an establishment republican? that’s what the reagan-bush ticket was.

Right. We got a conservative President for 8 years. Then we got a RINO VP President for 4 years. Then it just kept going down hill from there.

And, which silver and blue team did InTrade supporters think was more likely to reach the playoffs this year, the Detroit Lions or the Dallas Cowgirls?

I think before this race is over, Mitt and Herman will be working together. Just my hunch.

If Cain survives this, then hes the nominee apparent. He will not only survive this ridiculous libel, he will gain sympathy. I'm not so sure he's the nominee apparent, but I hope so.

Cain made it worse today by changing his story from what he said less than two hours earlier. Both times on tape, in full context, a 180 degree flip.Do you have any evidence? I don't want a link to a partisan web-site. Tell me how he contradicted himself, then provide the supporting evidence. If you cannot do that, your opinion is worse than worthless. It's troll material.

Same old Good old Boy Rove/Romney/Perry GOP establishment trying to keep a black man down, and on the plantation.

Good.points, truthguy. We may not agree with all of.a candidate’s positions, but right now we must STOP the descent into hell being pushed by Hussein.
