CURL: The very angry first lady Michelle Obama
The Washington Times ^ | October 30, 2011 | Joseph Curl

Posted on 10/30/2011 7:25:57 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Michelle’s back, and she’s madder than ever. She was already pretty angry, seemingly unhappy with just about everything. As her husband wrapped up the Democratic nomination in 2008, she let fly her real feelings: “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country.” A few months into her job as first lady, her French counterpart asked how she liked the gig: “Don’t ask!” she reportedly spat. “It’s hell. I can’t stand it!”

She even seems to be mad at her silver-tongued husband. When the two were to set off on a luxurious 10-day vacation to Martha’s Vineyard, she left early - four hours early - and flew up alone. And those private vacations. She’s traveled to some of the world’s most plush resorts, taking 42 days off in the past year - that’d be eight weeks of vacay time if she held down a normal job.

Now, she is ready to spew her bilious disgust with America on the campaign trail. A dignified, transcendent first lady? No chance. Michelle is going to break with a hundred years of tradition and play the role of attack dog, heaping derision on her husband’s political opponents like no other first lady before her.

And it’s already begun. Mad Michelle this week popped down to Davis Island, Fla., to hobnob with the very people her husband despises - the 1 percent. At a massive mansion on the bay, filled with the wealthiest of the wealthy, America’s first lady launched into a tirade about “them” - the Republicans.

“Let’s not forget about what it meant when my husband appointed two brilliant Supreme Court justices, and for the first time in history, our daughters - and our sons - watched three women take their seats on our nation’s highest court....

I appreciate all the kind words from you guys. I visited the project yesterday and it really is looking stunning. The lobby will be like no other. We installed a 30 foot high Onyx stone back lit with LED flat panels. Onyx is a semi-precious stone we found in Austraila. My vision has finally become reality. Creating good architecture can be a lot of fun, but getting it built requires payment in blood, sweat, and fits of anger and a huge dose of determination. I’d be glad to put you on our opening party invite and show you all around..sometime in April. Simply email Debbie Newman at debbienewman@signaturestpete.com.

when Cantor’s chances of selling so many empty Signature Place condos seemed dim. The 36-story building became a symbol of big Florida dreams smacked by a crushing real estate collapse.

The saga of Signature Place, from its inception in 2005 to its selling out late last month, is an economic soap opera. It stars a go-for-broke Cantor, bold architects, big-scale builders, a bevy of nervous bank lenders, lawyers galore and buyers first wowed by the condo tower’s pre-recession cachet, then angered by unit prices that soon felt sky high in a fast-falling real estate market.

No matter. Cantor bulled his way to the finish line. He schmoozed with his reluctant Midwest bankers backing the project. He calmed the wait-a-minute real estate lawyers. Along the way, he filled a huge condo tower in a regional market where many other high-end condos in downtown St. Petersburg, in Tampa’s Channelside and in Clearwater still tread water.

Cantor even claims a profit despite the big price reductions he was forced to offer. He first knocked 33 percent off the initial prices at Signature Place to keep most of his condo buyers from feeling like they were getting fleeced.

MOOCHY CALLS FOR UNION TACTICS TO GET BARACK RE-ELECTED.

Moochy doesn’t need to do all the voter shaking herself. The Working Families Party and Richard Trumka with his SEIU and AFL-CIO union thugs know exactly how to get the President re-elected. I can just hear the purple shirt wearing thugs now. “You pull the lever for Barack or I pull the trigger on this gun to your head!”

(THE DAILY CALLER) – The president is facing a very tough re-election campaign, first lady Michelle Obama told audiences at three Florida fundraisers on Thursday.

“This is going to require each of you to grab somebody by the shoulders and make them understand what’s at stake; how their self-interest is directly tied … It’s up to each of you to work like you’ve never worked before,” Mrs. Obama told an afternoon crowd of 200 people at the waterfront Tampa home of property developer Joel Cantor.

She used the same mix of threats and promises at a lunchtime fundraiser in Jacksonville. “This is not a joke. The choices are clear. We need you fired up and ready to go, working hard every minute of the day,” she said at the end of her stump speech. “We don’t have time to joke around. You got to shake people up. You got to get them ready to roll. We can do this.”

The first lady’s alarmist tone is certainly justified by the polls, which show her husband trailing in swing states, low in national surveys, disadvantaged by the national mood and nearly out of time to spur an election-saving economic recovery.

Mrs. Obama’s Tampa fundraiser, for example, charged $1,000 for general admission, $5,000 for admission and a photo with the first lady, and $38,500 to be included on the official host committee. That $38,500 price includes donations to the Democratic National Committee.

Her evening event at Jacksonville drew roughly 300 people, mostly women, according to a report from the White House press pool. The evening featured two African-American celebrities, singer Deborah Cox and Tracy Mourning, the wife of retired professional basketball player Alonzo Mourning. Tickets cost $500 and the host committee paid $25,000 each.

Campaign officials declined to say how much money the events raised.

At all five fundraisers, the first lady argued that Americans have responsibility to each other, that President Obama is a progressive leader who empathizes with the needs of Americans, and that government can address those needs.

“We can’t separate our individual stories from the broader American story,” she declared in Tampa. “Like it or not, we’re all in this together. And that’s how it should be.”

Barack Obama confirms Australia visit, set down for November

THE White House confirmed that Barack Obama will visit Australia for the first time as President in November - immediately after the APEC leaders; meeting he will host in Hawaii.

It will be the third attempt by the US President to make the trip after a visit was postponed twice early last year because of pressure to remain in Washington during a critical debate over passing health reforms, and later to cope with a disastrous oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

A statement issued by the White House follows a report in The Australian last week that Mr Obama had accepted an invitation from Prime Minister Julia Gillard to visit Australia.

Mr Obama’s visit on November 16 and 17 is officially linked to marking the 60th anniversary of the ANZUS defence alliance between the two countries.

...and no other country in the world would have that malcontent as its First Lady.

You forgot about South Africa's Winnie Mandela.

Romania had one, Ceausescu, and so did the Philippines, Marcos.

And Canada. Margaret Trudeau, but she was just a crazy hippie,

Am I mistaken or is Joel Cantor what Capitalism is all about...risk, hard work, vision and determination all doable because of FREEDOM. The whiners and losers of OWS? Their future is in their hands....or so they thought....freedom is like quick-silver - hard work to keep it or lose it to the slavers of Socialism and Communism, i.e., Che Guevara who murdered so many to rid his world of Capitalism now his Capitalist Ghost racking in millions is back in the form of mindless protesters in a free land trying to destroy capitalism once again. Go Figure...so many stupid people so little time..........

“Who do we want to be? Will we be a country that tells folks who have done everything right but are struggling to get by, ‘tough luck, you’re on your own’? Is that who we are?”

"I’m not going to kid you,” she told the guests, who paid as much as $35,800 for the appearance.

Irony?

Isn't it customary in the muslim culture to eat with bare hands? I notice that in all the pictures posted she seems to be eating with her right hand, which is proper.

Except she claims she's Christian. But, yes, I searched and it is customary for muslims to eat with their hands, specifically their right hand which she seems to always be doing. Haven't we also heard that they don't leave anything on their plates? That's also an islamic practice. If pictures don't lie, then she just outted herself as a practicing muslim.

Did we ever learn why this “Odd Couple” were asked to or forced to give up their license to practice law?

The MSM had important stuff to work on, like the status of Joe Wurzelbacher's trade license and the DNA of Palin's Down Syndrome child.

For the second time in my adult lifetime, I’m really ashamed of the First Lady of my country.

That said, methinks that John Semmens might have enough for a full column, here.
