On October 24, a Cain spokesperson acknowledged to Politico that he was familiar with certain “old and tired allegations” but insisted that the matter “was settled amicably among all parties many years ago” and that raising it now amounts to a “smear campaign.” A few days later, he told Politico that he had spoken about the matter with Cain, who “remembered there was something vaguely, some allegation, but he wasn’t familiar with it.”

I think he was saying he was vaguely familiar with some kind of smear.
Even if it’s true, it doesn’t rise to the level of Clinton and Monica or Kennedy drowning a woman.

Cain has to know that he was accused and that the Board of the Restaurant Association settled the complaints.
But, he said he “ could not comment “until I see some facts
or some concrete evidence.”
The Politico article multiple sources ,
it’s a lot more than Anita Hill’s solo and unwitnessed silliness
against Justice Thomas.
Cain obfuscated , but , refused to deny that he had
ever been accused of sexual harassment
when confronted this morning by the media after
appearing on Face The Nation.
Politico has seen the settlement papers and knows the names of the women who accused Cain
and how much they were paid by the board .
This was barely 10 years ago and the legal counsel
for the Restaurant Association would have interviewed
Cain to get his side.
A Cain aide seems to describe the case of a third woman .
” ( Cain ) did tell at least one campaign staffer this year
about the possibility that claims of sexual harassment could surface,
according to the aide.
Cain, this person said, described a case in which he fired an employee in 1990s and the woman alleged sexual misconduct or harassment.
Cain told the campaign staffer he had beaten the case
and that the woman had paid for his legal fees.
The aide had no further details.”
