I think that Schieffer missed one of the major points of the ad. First, many are still talking about it. Second, the government interference and take over of personal responsibility is, to me, the major point of the ad.

Everybody knows that smoking is detrimental to your health, and is a cancer risk. But it is smokers who light up and put the cigarette or cigar into their mouths; they have the responsibility to make that (bad) decision. They do not need to be ostracized for their bad habits. Let us all get the government out of our lives; it is overkill for those who decide to smoke.

What about all the children health programs Mark has contributed to with all those taxes he has paid with his cigarette purchases? He smokes so much he has probably funded a wing of a major hospital! Go Cain!
