If nanny-stater Bloomberg happened to see the ad he must still be experiencing a severe case of the vapors.

Go Cain!

But he’s making a mistake if he want’s to pick sides on the pro/anti smoking issue. Thousands of conservatives have walked into voting booths and voted to restrict smoking areas or increase cigarette taxes.

Of course he can pivot and assert the ad is about freedom rather than smoking but that’s a difficult line to find.

I hope he’s our next President and I hope he doesn’t pick a battle with the social conservative wing against the libertarian wing.

I have never smoked, but I LOVE that ad! It is a stick in the eye of the PC-nanny staters, but it’s also a throw down to the MSM. It says loud and clear, ‘We’re unorthodox, we’re unPC, and we are totally unafraid of anything you can—or think you can—do to us. Be afraid, very very afraid, b/c the Cain Train is about to flatten what’s left of the Dinosaur Media and reduce them to a pile of smoking rubble.’

Sent him a contribution before "the ad". May send him another. I LOVED it!

Spoken by a non-smoker.

Love the ‘in your face’ aspect of this ad.
NO PC for me....

I was 35 yr smoker, told myself one AM, NO MAS, that was in 1991, and haven’t picked one up since.
Stopped drinking in same time frame. Must have been a ‘real joy’ to have been around.

Now maybe (Hopefully) President Cain will stop the phony baloney White House ‘pardoning’ a Thanksgiving Turkey.

That would probably be the ONLY thing BO could do that may garner any ‘good’ feelings from me.

It’s not the smoking. It’s the unashamed to be himself, to have his people be themselves.

Obama is so fake. He’s gay and hides it. He’s a commie and hides it. He has citizenship problems and hides it. He SMOKES and hides it!

Ayn Rand stated in Atlas Shrugs,"I like to think of fire held in a man's hand. Fire, a dangerous force, tamed at his fingertips. I often wonder about the hours when a man sits alone, watching the smoke of a cigarette, thinking. I wonder what great things have come from such hours. When a man thinks, there is a spot of fire alive in his mind--and it is proper that he should have the burning point of a cigarette as his one expression."

What makes that ad so effective is its subtlety.

Love it.

Dumb ass headline.

It is not a “Smoking Ad”, i.e. an advertisement for smoking. It is a political ad in which someone smokes.

Words have meaning and headlines written like this indicate either ignorance of the English language or deliberate bias.

OTOH, if one considers the ad to be extremely successful, then it could be called and ad that is Smokin’

I have to admit..I didn’t read this whole thread.

So it may have already been mentioned.

But usually, if any one mentions smoking there is a general scream of...OMG!!!

So everyone on FR republic agrees with this ad? How amusing.

The message....

Let Herman be Herman...
Let Mark be Mark...
Let me be me...
Let America be America...

Don’t tread on me.

I was forced to watch CNN while in a hospital waiting room last night. The level of ridicule and unabashed mocking of this ad and Herman Cain was amazing. They didn't even try to hide their contempt and scorn. Incredible.

Herman Cain IS the leftists biggest nightmare.
