Many are initially turned off by Cain. He can come across as rough around the edges, seems a little unpolished (with regard to being president) and too quick to make off-the-cuff remarks. However, as you get to know him, you come to appreciate these qualities and you come to realize that Cain is not some slick, smooth politician who speaks in scripted soundbites and surrounds himself with handlers.
After having taken a hard look at Cain's background, it is obvoius that he has the intellect, character and experience to be a very effective president. He is a born leader who knows how to get things done. People get too hung up on the fact that he has not previously held political office. That is NOT a requirement to be president.
People worry unnecessarily about Cain's lack of "foreign policy" experience. They forget that a president has a Cabinet and a huge staff of people who will advise him of every situation that comes up. What is required of the president is to receive all this information and then make the decision that is most consistent with fulfilling his pledge to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
Preserving, protecting and defending the United States Constitution is the president's core duty. Not to memorize what salad fork to use at the State Dinner, or how to properly greet the Queen of England or to who the president of Uzbekistan is off the top of his head. He'll have people to tell him these things when he needs to know it. What we need now is a president who is a proven leader who actually loves his country and will surround himself with the right people to do his job effectively. Not another "get-along-to-go-along" "reaching-across-the-aisle" career politician hack.
Obama had no executive experience. He was in politics his entire life. Cain has executive experience running a large private sector company. It can’t be any more difficult to run the country than it can be to run a pizza company. And he is not promising to be all things to all people, like the One has been. He’s the guy the GOP should have nominated four years ago. Another white guy just won’t connect with people, especially if he’s well off like Mitt Romney.
Brilliant post, very well stated. It is incredible the fools who think you “must have” political experience to be President. Those politicians for the most part of scum. They consider the Constitution as outdated and irrelevant.
Superb post!
As for foreign policy, what the president must keep in mind for every move is-——What should be the plan of action in the best interest of United States of America.
If he/she makes all decisions using that rule, it will turn out to be a very good decision.
Outstanding post.
Unlike Obama and some of the Republicans, I do think Cain looks better the more we see of him. That’s why I think Romney should be nervous—the more I saw of Romney back when he was governor, the less I liked him.
