Those who use the line about breaking eggs for omelets fail to realize that they, too, are eggs.

Running the numbers I’ve concluded the “sustainable” limit is about 33 billion people. That’s using current agriculture-to-population ratio applied to all arable land; everyone gets a plot big enough to grow what food they need, plus a little living space. That’s also assuming fairly low-tech agriculture; as high- and future-tech farming is considered, the sustainable limit rises by a lot.

They had a giant condom at UMKC this weekend passing out free condoms trying to push their “family planning” and encouraging women to stay below the 2.4(can’t remember the exact number) reproductive rate. I wanted to haul my family out there and scandalize them but we had better family things to do.
