If true, this makes Iran-contra look like a bake sale in comparison. From Ynet:
The Palestinian Maan news agency reported Thursday that the United States has agreed to sell Egypt several F-16 fighter jets in order to facilitate the release of Israeli-American Ilan Grapel. Israel had opposed similar sales in the past.
Maan quoted General Sameh Sayf al-Yazal as saying that Washington was instrumental in negotiation the 27-year-old’s release, and helped Egypt “get the best possible deal for Grapel’s release.”
Grapel, who at some point faced charges of espionage, sedition and attempted arson, will be debriefed by defense officials once he arrives in Israel, after which he is expected to fly back to the United States.

Say what u will about Arabs, but this is a failure of leadership —they should have FORESEEN that he would be viewed by Arabs in this way. Indeed, we just blew up a couple of guys who were technically Americans, as we should have.

In the next war, all of Egypt’s F15 will suddenly stop working.
This administration misunderstood the long-standing policy of not negotiating with terrorists... the president thinks it means we accept their original demands without negotiating.

If that does not happen then obummermamba jamma lenin khomeini will have completed getting ready for his assault on us..I think we have been totally compromised and the plan is working from the inside, I think we already have a large Iranian army presence in the country..they will start off as protesters and then the riot will turn to all out war...
haven’t we been selling military equipment to egypt for decades? they probably have most of their air force flying US or NATO style aircraft. why is this such a big deal?
