Churchill redux? I respect Cain and Gingrich, and would be ecstatic to have that team running the executive. But Churchill was in a category of his own, a lifetime of amazing preparation and profound giftedness for his extraordinary confrontation with the great evil of his time. Cain and Gingrich are creditable enough, but they have some dues to pay before being classed with Churchill. IMHO.
My comparison to Churchill was related, primarily, to his having been villified or ignored during his term in Parliament when he warned about Hitler and the Gathering Storm. Not the totality of his extraordinary, turbulent life.
After his success in WWII even the fickle Brits threw him out - then pulled him back in again.
