Middle America does not like greasy grimy hippies hanging out using drugs and stinking up the city parks.

On the subject of whether they want the Government to forgive their student loan, force an Eeeeeevil Banker to take a haircut on their mortgage, and possibly even scale back their credit card fees, I think they are rather more amenable.
