I can’t speak for Mr. Vader, but personally, if a rapist is trying to attack me, wasting ammunition will be the least of my worries. The reality is I’m more likely to shoot until he stops moving, without stopping to see if he dies from the first shot.
Firing in an immediate, life-threatening situation, is seldom calm and detached. However much I would like to think otherwise.
Understood.
Don’t get me wrong. My point is that when the situation demands fire discipline, I’m going to promote that each and every time. There are always going to be the exceptions.
That is the way that I have always approached shooting and I’m not going to change it.
My first firearm was a Stevens .410 shotgun. Being a single shot (breech load), I learned early on to make my first shot count. Those lessons have served me well ever since.
