rubio today said he didnt want the VP slot.

Rick Perry gave his word last year during his 2010 gubernatorial election that he would serve all 4 years as Governor of Texas if elected again, so don't listen to what politicians say.

Oh wait, chances are high that Perry will serve out his current term as Governor.
