A fawning letter sent by Prince Charles to Colonel Gaddafi has been discovered at one of the despots palaces in Libya. Addressing the dictator as Your Excellency, the heir to the throne called for greater ties between the two nations.
It is the latest embarrassing link to emerge between the British Establishment and Gaddafis hated regime, and follows revelations his brother Prince Andrew was also used as a go-between.

As others have posted on FR, hereditary monarchy is about the dumbest way of selecting leaders ever imagined. Prince Charles is just one of many examples.

Agreed. Theres nothing shocking in this at all. Governments have to deal with each other, no matter if they really despise what the other stands for. Its called Realpolitik.

What is shocking is how long they treated Kim Jong-Il like that, sending him gifts and accolades. He put them all into a musum, dug into a mountain to show his people how he is loved around the world.
