A U.S. Border Patrol agent has been sentenced to two years in prison for improperly lifting the arms of a suspected 15-year-old drug smuggler while handcuffed in what the Justice Department called a deprivation of the teenagers constitutional right to be free from the use of unreasonable force.
Agent Jesus E. Diaz Jr. was named in a November 2009 federal grand jury indictment with deprivation of rights under color of law during an October 2008 arrest near the Rio Grande River in Eagle Pass, Texas, where he and other agents had responded to a report that illegal immigrants had crossed the river with bundles of drugs.

Agents Ramos and Compean were convicted and sentenced to, respectively, 11 and 12 years in prison. President George W. Bush commuted the sentences in 2009 after they had served two years The same prosecutors also charged Edwards County, Texas, Deputy Sheriff Gilmer Hernandez in 2005 with violating the civil rights of a Mexican criminal alien after he shot out the tires of a van filled with illegals as it sought to run him over. One of the illegal immigrants in the van was hit with bullet fragments in the incident, which shattered her teeth.
“Agent Jesus E. Diaz Jr.”
Another anti-latino racist!

Travisty!
The UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT WANTS THESE CRIMINALS HERE!
The weapons of our troops are aimed in the wrong direction!
Who writes these "laws" and lets get them erased.
These outrages against our police are just begging to become anti-Obama campaign ads in 2012.
There seems to be a war by the USA on the American southwest.
The basic electoral objective is the relocation of much of Northern Mexico into the USA, for votes.
If you are saying "lets erase the law writers"; I'm okay with that...
Let me see if I understand this. Zero pulled all of the troops out of IRAQ because the Iraqi’s would not give them immunity.
So a Border Patrol Agent gets thrown in Jail for “improperly lifting a illegal criminal”. It seems being a Bp Agnet is a Lose lose proposition.
How about immunity for them from BS claims by ILLEGAL aliens invading the U.S.?
good point.
we have more troops on the Afgh-Pak border than our own.
That is a daily source of po’dness to me everyday.
I haven’t heard ole Karsai walking back his siding with Paki if we have to fight them. I want all of our troops home, I’m sick of this BS Administration.
Ok, that’s my rant for today.
Ok, remind me again (I’m slow) - exactly who are these border agents supposed to protect and what job are they supposed to do??
Folks - the inmates are truly running the asylum!! What ever happened to the concept of right vs. wrong??
That's what he wants us to think. It turns out that, in another spectacular falure of his administration, zero could NOT negotiate a new status of forces agreement with Iraq - part of which was the immunity clause for the troops. THAT'S why he decided to yank them out ASAP!!
The bipartisan elitists continue their drive to eliminate American nationalism. I suggest that every Pubbie Presidential candidate be forced to take a stand on this issue, including Myth Romney and Ricardo “full of heart” Perry.
Does anyone know how we can help all these people who stood in our defense at the border, and got screwed by the bipartisan open-borders crowd? And what is your stand on this, Jaime Ricardo "Rick" Perry? You claim you want to stop cross-border criminal activity.
The immunity thing hit me. Oh I’m sure he couldn’t negociate anything. That’s why he always gives in to the enemy. He is worse than Chamberlain.
Part of this was the US having wadded itself up into being a paper tiger, and part of this was almost surely direct sabotage (i.e. Obama didn’t really want that kind of agreement, it pushed him in the name of defense into doing things that were distasteful towards his fellow Mooses).
Waving the Ramos/Compean bloody shirt without recounting the factors that actually did get them in trouble is intellectual dishonesty. A small factor was their filing a sanitized report. I think we can agree that this is a no-no, even if we disagree about how big it is. Just think things like Ruby Ridge. A far larger factor was a genuinely idiotic, inflexible “gun enhancement” for crimes that involved the usage of a gun, which added a decade to a one or two year sentence.
Ping!!
