HUNTSVILLE, AL - Kansas City police are still trying to track down leads in the frustrating case of missing 11-month old baby Lisa Irwin who disappeared three weeks ago.
The child's parents took part in a candlelight vigil held Sunday outside the home where she was last seen.
As the search for baby Lisa continues, some have noticed a striking resemblance between the Kansas City case and one that occurred in 2007 near Fort Bragg,North Carolina.
In that situation, the baby's mother also claimed the child had been abducted. However, that turned out not to be the case.
The baby's father and grandfather now live in Huntsville. We spoke with the grandfather who shared his take on the parallel circumstances.
In October 2007, Ronald Creech was confronted with a nightmare no family should have to endure. He recalls, My son was in Iraq, and when he came home fromIraq, he found that my grandchild was missing from the crib, and his girlfriend was yelling that she had been kidnapped. They found her the next day in the attic, and she had been there since August."
In 2010, the mother of his granddaughter, 11 month-old Harmony Jade Creech, was found guilty of murder.
Fast forward to several weeks ago: a mother in Missouri reported her baby, 10 month-old Lisa Irwin, also missing from her crib. For Creech, it feels like déjà vu.
He says, "I found out yes, there are several similarities. In fact, too many similarities. It looks like it might be a copycat."
Among those similarities, Creech notes that both mothers reported last seeing their babies when they put them to bed. Additionally, both claim the intruder entered through a window, and left through the front door, taking blankets and baby clothes along with them.
As another coincidence, Creech says both the Irwins and his son's family lived near Fort Bragg, NC, at the time of his granddaughter's murder.
Since the end of the trial and burial of Harmony Jade last year, Creech says his son, Ronald Creech II, is trying to move on as best he can, making a life for himself in Huntsville.
Creech says, "He's got him a beautiful girlfriend now, I think he wants to marry her one day, and he's going to school to be an engineer. I think he's got his life on track. It took him a while to do it afterwards, but he's on his way."
Creech hopes closure will come soon for baby Lisa's family, but until then he recommends: "Prayer and church. Prayer helps with a lot of the pain."
Now Bradley claims the same thing. Either it's a colossal coincidence or Bradley is not very creative.
BTW I haven't heard anyone on FOX mention any of this.
What "Irwins," the baby's grandparents? Mr. Irwin, the father, appears to be and have been an unmarried man, and Mrs. Bradley was and is still Mrs. Bradley.
Perhaps, apropos of family arrangements that aren't the most successful, young Mr. Creech would want to avoid having another child with a woman he might or might not marry someday.
Reporter obviously is confused by people constantly referring to Bradley and Irwin as husband and wife. I don’t believe this refers to the grandparents at all.
Also I don’t know whether Bradley met Irwin in NC or Kansas City, but I do recall that she is married to someone in the Army and while she was still living with him, they were at Fort Bragg.
Totally agree with you, and that was my thought as I read the article, too. But, the idea of marriage before children, and some life planning before children is an alien concept to so many now days. It’s almost incredible the cultural shift that has occurred in the blink of eye, history-wise.
Sadly, the Irwin/Bradley ‘marital’ arrangement is all too common. I call it polygamy;) Please confirm or correct the following:
Mr.Bradley is in Iraq and/or in the military and is the father of at least one of the 6yr-old or 8yr-old boys.
Mr.Irwin (father of Lisa Irwin) may be the father of one of the boys and fought for custody from the child’s mother (they may or may not have been married)
Mrs. Bradley (mother of Lisa Irwin) is the mother of one or two of the boys and cannot afford to divorce Mr.Bradley.
Mrs. Bradley had her first child at age 17 and is now 25 yrs old.
This is what I believe happened:
Mrs. Bradley was passed out drunk when some druggie broke into the home to burglarize it. The boys heard something and ran into her room to hide. She became paralysed with fear and combined with the effects of being drunk didn’t react as a normal mother would. The drug addled burglar smothered Lisa to stop her crying and ran out of the house in a panic - grabbing the phones and carrying the baby. The mother may have seen it all and cannot face her cowardice.
Is too embarassed to tell the whole story and will not let the boys tell it either. Boyfriend Irwin may suspect but not know the whole story.
“Mr.Irwin (father of Lisa Irwin) may be the father of one of the boys and fought for custody from the childs mother (they may or may not have been married)”
Just one correction: Irwin had DNA testing done on his son (the 8-year-old) to establish paternity. There was a long and bitter custody proceeding in which Irwin finally won total custody of the boy.
The poor sap does not seem to have much luck with women.
...and maybe he should consider a vasectomy in his future...
The boys were interviewed once. Why would the burglar take the baby? Big difference between burglary and kidnapping/murder. And the witnesses who reported seeing a man carrying a baby in a diaper said he didn’t appear in any hurry.
I read the custody battle was with his wife’s parents. His wife was supposedly deported - don’t know to where but her name sounded Indian. Why she was deported, I haven’t heard. But you can see the child has dark skin. Jeremy Irwin looks creepy to me. Not that that means he is guilty of anything, but the whole story is so crazy. Nothing makes sense.
Hi!
A psycho burglar? He may have thought the baby was just unconscious, but still able to cry and awake the family. Perhaps he believed no-one in the house heard or saw him and would not be able to identify him. However, his DNA was on the baby’s mouth; was he taking the evidence of his crime with him?
Don’t know - but nothing about this child’s disappearance makes sense; the timeline, the parents’ reaction, the eye-witnesses, the dumpster fire.
Reports have said that Mr. Bradley is “away in the military,” or words to that effect. I don’t know if that means he’s deployed overseas, or if he’s just “away” from the area where his parents live, the way Anoreth was “away in Seattle” for two years.
I’m reminded, at the other end of the socio-economic spectrum, of Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, who had the president of France’s baby last week (and best wishes to them). Most people thought it was her first child, but she has a 10-year-old son with a former lover ... she just walked away, leaving the boy with his father and whatever women (or men) pass through that gentleman’s life. No different from American reality-show stars or the rest of these mixed up people - just with more money and better manners.
I’m not sure how that theory is superior to the theory that Mrs. Bradley, while drunk, decided to take her frustrations out on her crying baby and ended up murdering her.
Not an expert - just trying to pull the multiple pieces of information together.
If the mother was totally ‘black-out’ drunk - it’s hard to believe that she was lucid enough to totally dispose of the baby within the 4 hour window. She had no vehicle or other mode of transportation (that we know of). If she accidentally or in a rage killed Lisa - she must have called for help and got it - then disposed of the cell phones to cover up the phone call.
Don’t know - just more speculation.,
Kansas City Police to Re-Interview Brothers of Missing Baby Lisa Irwin
Kansas City police are planning to re-interview the brothers of missing baby Lisa Irwin and take a DNA sample from them, the family’s lawyer said.
Cyndy Short, a local attorney for the baby’s parents, told Fox News that investigators will speak to the young brothers this week. The boys, age 6 and 8, were first interviewed on the day that Lisa disappeared.
The interviews “will happen with ... special certified forensic interviewers who are specially trained to interview children,” Short said.
The baby’s mother, Deborah Bradley, told authorities she last saw 10-month-old Lisa in her crib on the night of Oct. 3. She was reported missing more than nine hours later when her father, Jeremy Irwin, returned home from work and noticed Lisa was gone. The family says Lisa, whose birthday is Nov. 11, was abducted from their home.
Police say they received at least 200 calls and a dozen tips over the weekend in the case but so far they have only generated a string of false positives in the search for the child.
Baby Lisa’s brothers who ‘heard noises the night she disappeared’ to be questioned by policeHalf brothers, aged six and eight, were reportedly in bed with mother Deborah Bradley when baby disappeared
Will be questioned by officers on Friday and given DNA tests
The parents of missing baby Lisa Irwin are to allow their sons to be questioned by police and will undergo DNA testing, it has been revealed.
The older brothers of the missing 11-month-old, who are aged six and eight, were in the house in Kansas City, Missouri, the night she disappeared and reportedly heard noises.
But parents Deborah Bradley, 25, and Jeremy Irwin, 29, had refused to let officers speak to them since initial enquiries the night their sister vanished.
See photos at link above.
If those are the two brothers in the photo they are certainly not from the same father unless one is from the live in boyfriend’s former wife/live in/relationship/sleepover/whateveryoucallitthesedays.
Other reports have made it pretty clear that one boy is Mr. Irwin’s son from a previous sexual relationship, while the other is Mrs. Bradley’s son with a different father, presumably her husband. The only child they have together is the missing baby, Lisa.
