Names Of Casey Anthony Trial Jurors To Be Released Tuesday

The names of the jurors who determined Casey Anthony’s fate when they found her not guilty of first-degree murder will be made public Tuesday.

Juror identities are usually released in Florida once a verdict is rendered. But, in Anthony's high-profile case, Orange-Osceola Chief Judge Belvin Perry ordered the names remain private.

Anthony, 25, was found not guilty in July of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Marie in the summer of 2008. The 12-member jury, comprised of Pinellas County residents, also found Anthony not guilty of aggravated child abuse and not guilty of aggravated manslaughter of a child.

Maybe I am dense (which I maintain is always a possibility), but exactly what is ever the point of releasing juror identities?

To be fair, we weren't sitting in the jury box. The only information that the general public got was the sensationalism passing as media journalism. In a Florida murder case the defense really doesn't have to do much, however the prosecution must provide evidence and convince the jurors "beyond a reasonable doubt" that the person before them committed the crime. If the defense shoots holes in the prosecutions case and leaves reasonable doubt, then the jury can't convict. I have my personal feelings about this case, but I've been a juror also and you have to go by the law or the case will be overturned on appeal. If you want to add someone to your registry, add the prosecutor and law enforcement for botching a case that should have been a slam-dunk.

Sorry. I watched the trial. I am sick Of Casey apologists.

Heck, even some of the jurors have said they made a mistake.

Oh, I agree. She should be locked up under the prison. Even better would be to put her in a ward with women who have had their children taken from them while in prison.

I can tolerate a stupid jury more than I can tolerate a lazy one.

Unfortunately this jury was both.

After having sat on a number of juries over my lifetime I am not in favor of releasing the jurors names unless they want to on an individual basis. IMHO it will only discourage people from serving on juries.

You could be right. OTOH, it might encourage future juries to spend more than a few hours deliberating, and to issue more responsible verdicts.

Well, the judge is not accountable, the defense attorneys are not accountable, the prosecutors are not accountable and the defendant is not accountable.

Who is left?

As a Florida resident, I think I'll do my best to get out of jury duty. Heaven forfend I come up with a verdict that doesn't sit well with the Nancy Grace crowd. I'd have to watch my back for the rest of my life.

I agree she should be in prison for the rest of her life, but thinking about the HELL she is now living on the outside warms me.

She is alone, no one would ever have her, who would hire her? she is not fit to breath the same air we do. She is living in the same HELL as Monica Lewinsky.

Maybe she will write another O.J. type book, "If I did it", of course no one would want to read it.

Looks like we have a repeat of her adventure in Mo., she taught young mothers the "HOW to" and get away with it.

Of course the trial was on tv so we know exactly what the jury heard. One of the alternates was interviewed right after the verdict was read and he said they "liked" Jose. This jury was so stupid they based this on their opinion of the attorney.

The opening statement by the prosecution included a comment that casey was young and doing what young people do - partying and that wasn't wrong but in this case it showed a lack of remorse. That idiot alternate completely twisted that and said the prosecution called her a slut because she was partying. I was stunned that anyone could be that stupid.
