They've been popular with Presidents for decades. I certainly wasn't happy with Clinton/Bush/Obama using them.

One thing I find very interesting - when Rick Perry came out and said he would bypass Congress with his energy plan, although I think he used the term "executive action" instead of "executive order", the media flipped out. Barry is going to do it and the media is talking about him trying to save peoples homes or jobs or whatever. Lovely double-standard.
