Britain needs to regain control of its own destiny. The EU is imposing its own centralized regulatory and legal hegemony on the member states. Britain has lost control of its immigration policy, much of its legal system, food and product controls, and on and on. There should be a British referendum by the voters on if Britain should withdraw from the EU and a full measure of the price of staying or going.

I don´t believe the story. It is made up to allow Cameron a way out of the referendum on the EU demanded by the British people.
It is in my opinion like this...Sarkozy and Cameron came up with the idea of a bust up, so that Cameron can say to the people. look no need for you to worry I defend the interest of the British people, therefore your demsnd for a refeerendum is not needed.
