I just posted another comment to you but then noticed another one of your posts and thought I would respond again.

The second part of Perry’s plan (the first being his energy-energy jobs-energy independence plan) is already out, as I’m sure you know, but the tax reforms are a part of the second part of his proposals which is to be presented to the public on Tuesday, October 25. That second part will highlight tax reform, spending and reduction reform, and entitlement reform.

So you haven’t seen any real debates on the tax reform details since they are coming out with all that other stuff this Tuesday.

Keep an eye out that day to see what he is proposing. I would imagine he’ll be giving a speech at some point that day, and one would think there would be some interviews then too. I did hear last week that Perry was scheduled to be on the Bill O-Reilly Fox show on Tuesday night.

Yea that! LOL

Do us all a favor though. We you "do a blender" to it, make sure you don't throw their "crap" in that blender with the blender lid open. We'll all have even worse problems then! :-)

My goal is to simply rebut and outlast.

(Trouble is that work keeps getting in the way - I’m heading off to bed so I *can* work today.)

Thanks for the info.

I am looking forward to the debate.

I feel as though it’s Christmas in the GOP! And that Forbes is right that this indicates that conservatives are actually ready to push through major tax reform, of some sort, this time.

I understand a while ago Gingrich put out a flat tax plan, but it didn’t make a sound.

I wish I understood economics enough to really get into the debate with substance, but I know I’ll be doing a lot of reading, researching, studying up, and then maybe just a little spittin’ back here and there! I’m a quick learner when I need to be though. Maybe that will help.

I’m much better with English and Humanities kind of things, and even then, when I get on Free Republic, I end up having to look up at LEAST two words in the dictionary every day! LOL

I’ll tell you what, being a part of this group has been more educational than several years in college. You can’t do much here if you don’t force yourself to think a lot.

Have fun being one of the good debaters on the different proposals, as I’m sure you will be. I’ll be watching and learning from you all!

Oh, and one more thing, this IS an exciting time isn’t it.

I was thinking that at the last debate even, looking at that group of candidates we have, all together. This party has come a long, long way, and it’s been for good.

If you do not put that in context..It is VERY misleading. "President Fox’s vision for an open border is a vision I embrace, as long as we demonstrate the will to address the obstacles to it.

An open border means poverty has given way to opportunity, and Mexico’s citizens do not feel compelled to cross the border to find that opportunity.

It means we have addressed pollution concerns, made substantial progress in stopping the spread of disease, and rid our crossings of illicit drug smuggling activity.

Clearly we have a long way to go in addressing those issues."

I don't think any of the other candidates have any experience with border security. And, I really doubt any have taken time to see what El Paso, Del Rio, or Brownsville are like, and places in between. A brief wine and dine with Sheriff Joe is optics, not a record. Rick Perry's record on border security and immigration. <-- The record is actually quite good.

DrewsMum-- You need to balance your intake of Alex Jones and InfoWars with some more truthful reading. It's hard to sleep at night when all you can hear are black helicopters flying overhead! Rick Perry 2012.

Perry is getting much better with each debate. His speeches are phenomenal. And they’re better than they were two mos ago. Perry will be primed to take on whatever Obama can bring. Perry2012!

Then why did Texans vote to give state tuition to second generation noncitizen state residents?

Was the Texas tuition bill imposed by executive order?

The Texas Dream Act violates no conservative principle???

I’m in the Twilight Zone....it violates EVERY conservative principal. Forcing taxpayers to subsidize ILLEGAL FOREIGNERS in any form is a violation of everything our founders stood for.

He was saying if it were a perfect world and knew it was not nor would it ever be.

That speech was in August of 2001. 10 years ago.
A lot has changed since then.

Mexico is the United States’ second-largest export market and third-largest trading partner.

I am not for an open border and neither is Perry.

Perry has had to deal with an international border that was suppose to be secured by the Federal Government on behalf of all the United States.

Perry has had to deal with Obama Administration that does nothing - except send troops to other countries.

Perry has had to deal with a United States Government that is corrupt and has committed treasonous crimes by running guns into Mexico to criminal drug cartels.

Perry has had to deal with a Supreme Court order that we educate illegals.

Perry has had to deal with a Homeland Security and ICE that will not punish violators, will not deport violators but instead puts them right back on the streets.

So, go vote for someone else.

Vote for someone who has dealt with illegal immigration and who have dealt with a border that has not been secured by the Federal Government.

Vote for someone who has fought tooth and nail with Obama for 3 years.

Vote for one of the stupid idiots that say things like they are going to build a 1200 mile fence that they know NOTHING about.

Vote for one of the stupid idiots that say they are going to build something that would take 10-15 years to build, cost billions and electrify it so that it kills people.

Vote for one of the stupid idiots that say giving 12 to 16K kids a break of few hundred dollars (yea, I know what Romney said and that dog don’t hunt because the majority of those kids are going to community colleges) that NO ONE not even Texas Taxpayers pay a dime for!

It is a fact that the in-state tuition law does not cost Texans one dime. It certainly does not cost US Taxpayers anything. In fact, if the law was reversed today, Texas Universities would lose over 10 million dollars according to the original article on this thread.

Don’t vote for someone who could not have changed that law due to a majority vote by a legislature. It is something that Texas decide - not anyone else - it is a STATE ISSUE.

Perry, Texans and Texas did not INVITE the illegals into our state. They cost us lots and lots of money and we know it but our hands are tied by the Federal Government who refuse to do their job, who run guns to the drug cartels, who make laws mandating that we pay for the illegals education that they refuse to keep out of our state and that they refuse to deport.

Perry has pushed laws in the legislature but our legislature are afraid they will step on their hispanic votes and will not pass them.

Perry tried to get the sanctuary city law passed, he specified that it was an emergency bill and when our legislature did not pass it, he called a special session and put it right back on the table for them to consider.
They still did not pass it (they will soon be up for election).

Our legislature only convenes every two years.

Go vote for someone who say what they think you want to hear even though they have no experience or knowledge of what they say regarding the border.

As Texans: we have no income tax. We have a Governor we like and that is why we keep electing him. His policies have created an environment that results in a better standard of life with as little regulations as he can maintain for us, low taxes, less scum attorneys that were driving costs up. We deal with the illegal immigrant problem as best we can considering we are fighting at both ends: The Federal Government on our backs and the drug war on the border. With our own money and our own manpower.

We take shit from the Feds every single day of every single week of every single month of every single year.

Yet we still are still the #1 economy in the United States.

Go vote for a candidate for President that has been a part of something even close to that.

As President, Perry will secure the border in the most effective way and do it quickly. He is against the anchor baby law and would love to see it end. He will fight against the drug cartels.

As President, Perry is on record that he will get the e-verify program errors fixed and up to par. Then it could be used with accuracy and he would be for it.

He will get this country back on track. Then the American people can create jobs and begin to prosper again.

Perry will lower our taxes, get regulation off our backs and under control, get tort reform, strengthen our defense and then let America be America.

You will not see Perry bowing to anyone.

You will not see Perry apologizing for America.

You will see an American Patriot as President in Perry.
