President Obama at war with himself over Wall Street
Politico ^ | 21 Oct 2011 | CARRIE BUDOFF BROWN

First, the White House signaled it would make anger toward Wall Street central to President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign. But then, Obama warned against demonizing all of Wall Street — only a few days before he sympathized with the Occupy Wall Street protesters who do exactly that.

And that’s just what the president and his team have said since Saturday. The White House’s Wall Street whiplash stretches to the earliest days of the administration, with Obama conciliatory one minute and confrontational the next.

His zigzags between embracing the business community and vilifying it have shadowed his presidency, exposing him to charges from Wall Street that he’s out to get them and from liberals that he coddles Big Business. Based on his own statements, Obama himself can appear undecided about which way to go — an incoherence that has left both sides dissatisfied as he seeks reelection.

Three years into power, Obama’s message du jour pattern seems more consequential than merely clumsy communications. It speaks to a difficulty setting a clear strategy that by some lights has been central to his political challenges.

1. Be himself and come out as a true socialist

or

2. Pretend to be a capitalist

He’s not really confused. His true position concerning Wall Street and Wall Streeters is: “Give me the money and shut up!”

Chicago style, “gangsta” politics is really weird. Barry can stand there all day long trashing, smearing and calling for the beheading of the boys on Wall Street while they’re on their knees kissing his @$$ and throwing money at him. Weird stuff.

So on the one hand he vilifies WS, and on the other he fears losing donations.

Give him time. When he starts feeling the squeeze he’ll praise WS to the nines pandering for campaign donations. His OWS fleabagging thugs will be thrown under the bus.

One suspects that Mister Obama (and his buddies) are actually behind the OWS (community organizing, it's what they do), and that this is the behavior of someone trying to support but appear unconnected with his own clandestine project.

I have no proof of this, of course.

It is merely a suspicion.

Photobucket America is predicated on freedom, free enterprise, not envy and excuses. You simply cannot be pro-jobs and anti-business.

Exactly right. The occupy wall street is an Obama shake down/fund raiser.

I agree with you. I think Obama is surreptitiously going back to his Alinsky/Community organizer roots.

Heaven knows he sucks at everything he does, but he might suck least at this type of activity.

If he wasn’t -resident, then he probably would be, right now, toting a bullhorn, living in a tent in an urban park, and coordinating with Lisa Filthian.
