A strong earthquake collapsed homes and buildings in eastern Turkey Sunday morning. Casualty report to come.
The mid-day earthquake was recorded at 7.3 on the Richter scale, according to a Greek news agency, and 6.6 by the Associated Press.

My Android app shows 34 more earthquakes of 4.0 or more since the 7.0+ yesterday, including at least one more 5.0+ and a 6.0+.

Occupy Wall Street crowds now protest the price gouging that will likely take place around thanksgiving from the earthquake in turkey.

That’s the gift of Islam and a gift that just keeps on giving!
But...TRADITION! That rock has killed my ancestors for 20 generations. TRADITION! TRADITION! Without our tradition, we’d be as shaky as...as...that ROCK! WATCH OUT!
It’s too bad to hear you feel that way about Turkey atm. Sad, had it happened to you there would be at least one turkish person sending out a prayer for you and your family.
Flip the channel next time if you dont care to know.
One would think that SOMEbody in the local broadcast newsroom could take the ten seconds required to visit:

and then report:

Why is what happens in the dusty streets of Turkey, *breaking* news in America?
We flipped on the radio this morning, and they immediately led the news hour with news from Turkey, as if this occurred in Nevada, followed by some news from Libya, as if it were in Atlanta. Why is this not 2nd or back page news? Why is all this foreign news being shoved down our throats on a daily basis?
What happens in these far flung foreigner countries is now breaking news in the U.S.A?
Actually, it’s every single morning now we get what they call, “Breaking” news from all over the planet shoved down our throats...All this while America circles the drain.
I find this very odd.

Get real, the people in Turkey for the most part could care less about Americans.
BTW, my comment had nothing to do with pity, having sympathy or not having sympathy, etc. That should have been obvious to you.
If you’d read the words, they clearly indicated Americans are being inundated with foreign news, to the point where it leads the news on a daily basis here in America, all while our own country is circling the drain, with more problem than we have solutions for.
This is obvious to most capable of critical thought who understand they’re conditioning Americans for their globalist, borderless, U.N. one world order schemes.
And ya can’t just “flip the channel” as you suggested because the government controlled media, basically control what ya see and hear regarding news. You haven’t noticed?
For example, while our own borders have become violent out of control war zones, with millions entering this country illegally, as American commits economic suicide, the media constantly runs stories about borders and conflicts in Bullshitistan and Afcrapistan.

You’d think.
That’s why I don’t really respect the media much.

Are you for real?.
These people definitely need to study and use straw bale construction techniques. Much more quake proof and no heavy stones to crush and kill. Lots about straw bale at Google; also hurrican resistant.
Meanwhile, here is a story about the aftermath of the great Japan tsunami. Apparently a 1,000 by 2,000 mile debris field is headed our way. Due to hit Midway in Jan., Hawaii in 2013 and North America in 2014. I certainly hope all those West Coast recyclers make their plans well in advance. Twenty million tons is a lot of debris. SC, this might be suitable for the Catastrophism list.

Hey, don’t complain. Today the front page news in a local paper was about a doggy doo court case, complete with full page photo of cute fluffy white dog.;-)
The government controlled media? Is this why 90% of talk radio is conservative or evangelical?
You might want to read the post a bit slower. Noticed the word, "News."
"And ya cant just flip the channel as you suggested because the government controlled media, basically control what ya see and hear regarding news. You havent noticed?"
segwaying over to the Japan Tsunami; I read the article about all this flotsam coming our way yesterday. The first question that came to mind for me was; “is this stuff radioactive”? Well, one thing for sure, there's plenty of unemployed Californians available to clean up their beaches. Oop’s, almost forgot; Calie folks would find this sort of work beneath them. Guess the illegals will probably do it for them though. Course, Calie folks being the good environmentalist's they are will want to dump the stuff in some neighboring state rather than disposing it within their own borders. Guess I would be ok with Nevada - anyone know Harry Reid's address? LOL!
