The king gave Nayif the implicit "OK" when he appointed him as deputy prime minister in 09, I think. It's likely that he will be next in line.
Khalid and Bandar are probably the 2 most well-known sons of Sultan. Khalid is the assisstant defense minister, fought in the Gulf War and against the Hawthis in Yemen, opposes Iran, and owns the
Living Oceans Foundation. He is Sultan's oldest son.
Saudi Arabia is odd in its succession rules in that power doesn't pass from father to son, it passes from the oldest living son of Abdul Aziz ibn Saud (the founder) to the next oldest, until that generation has all passed away, and then it passes to the second generation in the same fashion. This means we wind up with a lot of aging, short-reigning monarchs and heirs dying of old age before they take the throne.

One of the younger Princes in the Military, I think its the US-trained Khalid, is overseeing the construction of a border fence running the entire length of the Iraq border, to keep out potential immigrants and refugees when the US leaves Iraq. That border with Iraq is no mere neighborhood property line. Has anyone told Khalid the utter folly and waste of time building, maintaining, and patrolling a border fence across hundreds of miles of inhospitable terrrain is? /s

No, Obama dropped for the King himself...Embarrassing moment for Americans, that was...I'll bet Michelle was the one who put an end to all that:

Thought you couldn’t build a long border fence. It’s impossible according to The Messiah.

Thanks, thanks, thanks, and thanks. ;o)
FR had a burp...it wasn’t you.
That’s who I thought he was. He was a very “clean and articulate” guy, the last I saw of him. Not to mention that he was goodlooking...
