From the same group of MF'ers that say we need to pay more taxes.

I HATE these "people".

What???

NBC Sports abandoning New York City because of tax break issues??????

Why would the good liberals who run NBC relocate a division of the company out of a liberal mecca such as New York City????

I always thought the liberal view is that you don’t make these decisions based on base concerns such as money.

I guess I just don’t understand liberals.

For the life of me I do not know why Wall Street doesn’t relocate.

Maybe because "Occupy Bourbon Street" would be really dangerous. :)

For the life of me I do not know why Wall Street doesn’t relocate.

Many financial firms are HQ'd in Stamford/Greenwich and N. NJ. UBS is probably the biggest one.

Wow, who expected Connecticut to become the center of the sports universe?

Wall Street will relocate when some other state offers them billions in tax-free loan guarantees.

They are some of the biggest welfare queens.

The NBC decision-makers probably will have a much shorter commute once they move to Stamford.

The NBC regular guys will either have to quit or make a longish commute now themselves. If they live in NJ, forget it. If they are paying rent in NYC, perhaps they can buy a house for a similar amount 20 miles north of Stamford; about a 90 minute commute during rush hour. And those workers won’t see any lessening of any taxes, that’s for sure. And now they might have to buy a car that they didn’t have in NYC.

And okay, CT gains a few jobs in a few years probably but what else? It’s not like NBC Sports is going to brand themselves as being from Stamford. (Although the WWF/E did I guess.)

So I ask... is this what we want? Connecticut, with a 9% jobless rate and a state government far in debt (even though they RETROACTIVELY raised taxes this year, if you can believe it) allows a big company to come here with a smile and a wink.

I don’t know. HOw will this help the locals (like me) who would be part of the 1% in about 40 other states but are just regular ol’ chumps here?

Here we go again with the light-in-the-loafer, ascot-wearing, pipe-smoking, nutmegger-bashing. Well deserved, I suppose.

2,000 jobs at its Connecticut headquarters in exchange for $20 million in state loans over five years

What can I borrow with say 5 employees?

I hope this is a typo

to Connecticut as part of his "First Five" initiative, which is intended to consolidate various tax credits to draw the first five businesses that invest $25 million in Connecticut and create 200 jobs over five years.
