Memo to GOP Contenders: Cut the Crap!
Patriot Post ^ | October 20, 2011 | Mark Alexander

With the most recent GOP presidential primary "debate" just concluded, it's clear that the frontrunner is none other than ... you guessed it, Barack Hussein Obama. The incessant bickering bullpucky and petty assaults among most of the GOP wannabes is undoubtedly a source of great glee for the Obama campaign.

In general, what is so funny about the election process is the candidates bash each other on why the other shouldn't get the nod. But when one gets the nod the others support him/her.

In subsequent campaigns, including his two presidential elections, Ronald Reagan abided by that 11th Commandment, unless defending himself, and he set an outstanding course for American renewal.

That's a lovely fable, but in reality Reagan laid into other Republicans, especially Gerald Ford in 1976. He could hardly run against and incumbent Republican without telling people why Ford was a lousy president.

It is just the way things have been done for millions of years. Evolution takes generations for change. Revolution only takes (one).

They need to drop the pwesonal attacks and attack Obama on every disaster he has created. We need to hear their plans, their ideas, and how they intend to defeat the marxist clown.

I don’t want to hear stuff and nonsense, this goes beyond that. I want answers to problems, not hairpulling and tongue wagging false promises.

SOME people pay way too much attention to these preliminary debates and press clippings. When the smoke clears and the field is weeded out is the time to begin seriously looking for a candidate to support.

You confuse Reagan’s attacks on substance with the current tendency to attack opponents based on personality.

Plenty of substance in the attacks on both Romney and Perry.
They both have records of supporting various liberal causes and socialist incursions and should be held to the fire. Ron Paul, of course, is a fruitcake and there is no harm in pointing that out either.

Reagan’s rule only applied to Republicans.

Myth Romney and Huntsmen are Democrats.

I wonder why they even go on those shows when they ought to know by now it is never good for them.

It must be hell being a political candidate; always looking for the next camera.

When I speak of “substance” I’m discussing the candidate’s ability to pursuade me (and others) as to why they deserve my vote. Not, why the other candidate doesn’t deserve my vote. I am able to figure out on my own who I DON’T want to vote for. I’m waiting for someone to give me a reason TO vote for them.
