Senate rejects big piece of Obama jobs bill [ Democrats vote for more Rape ]

President Barack Obama and his allies in the Senate promise to press ahead with separate votes on pieces of his failed $447 billion jobs measure despite unanimous opposition from Republicans. But there also are signs of slippage among Democrats and evidence the strategy isn't working with voters.

Future votes on individual pieces of the measure, however, aren't likely to fare better than a pared-back jobs measure designed to boost hiring of teachers and first responders that Republicans and a handful of Democrats scuttled on Thursday.

Obama's revised plan failed on a 50-50 test vote that fell well short of the 60 needed to break a filibuster. Three Democrats abandoned Obama on the vote and two more who voted with the president said they couldn't support the underlying Obama plan unless it's changed.

Passing this would have increased rape; the rape of the Constitution and the american taxpayer.

Probably more to it than just that. Back in early 2009 it was probably politically dangerous for her to oppose the Obama stimulus as his approval rating was >70% and the economy was in a nose dive, given her RINO voters.

But now with the economy still in the tank, a failed stimulus that most voters think was wasted, defecting Democrats and Obama now below 40% ;it is safe for her to oppose it and stick with Republicans. Things have changed dramatically.

Obama is playing this political game with a very weak hand and trying to bluff it, but we all see his cards. Makes it fun to watch.

I guess Jay Carney was trying to argue that there is a correlation between crime rate and the number of cops on the beat. Then, why stop at $35 billion? Wouldn't we be safer at $70 billion? $100 billion? More cops, more firefighters, more teachers, heck, more garbage men, would benefit someone. But, just like anything else in life, we can only have the number of cops that we can afford. If you are borrowing to pay for cops today, you are asking the next generation to pay for our cops as well as the cops that they will need in the future. And, to me, that is the height of selfishness.
