A Halloween display at a home in Brooklyn has been taken down after some called it a symbol of racism.
A scarecrow painted to have dark skin was hanging by a rope from a tree in front of a home in Kensington.
Some neighbors say the homeowner gets in the spirit of Halloween every year and believe he meant no harm by the display.
But one councilman argued it was reminiscent of a lynching.
Its unacceptable, said Charles Barron (D-Brooklyn). You aint speaking for this whole community because some people on this block came by and said it was offensive. They came and said it was offensive. Its not a cool decoration.
Police settled the dispute by removing the scarecrow figure from the tree.
Well, put up a real scarecrow made with straw? Will the blacks objects?
He was better off with the Palin or Bush figure hanging from the tree.
That sure is a nappy headed scarecrow
Looks like an OWSer! Does it smell bad, too? Nothing says Halloween like death with smell-o-vision!
If the t-shirt read “Herman Cain for President” it would still be hanging.
;)
That would be Charles Barron the 60-plus-year old Communist. Hang him from the tree instead. He ain't black. He's red.
But it was ok to have a Sarah Palin effigy hanging as a Halloween decoration a few years ago. Then the liberals said it was all in the good spirit of Halloween fun, and can’t we take a joke, yadda, yadda, yadda.
Why is it if liberals are offended, then the whole world is supposed to take notice and remove the offending item? But if conservatives take offense, it’s because conservatives can’t take a joke. Why the double standard??????

Palin hanging from a West Hollywood home was acceptable in 2008.
Neither should be done but both are free speech.
Oh,well....at least it wasn’t a nativity scene removed....yet!
I have seen him on tv & he is an idiot................he is a race baiter of the highest order.
