He owns his house free and clear, and has no long-term debt. A “twitch of fate” is not going to dispossess him because he has built a strong foundation for his life and his family by avoiding the honeyed trap of easy credit, which lures most Americans into borrowing a lifestyle which they can’t actually afford.

I agree, he should be able to sleep well at night, especially if he has tenure.

Exactly. There is a Fox News channel TV commercial airing in So. Cal, (although it could be National) The name of the dirt-bag Company is US Taxshield and they profess “it's not your fault, you are the victim of circumstance” and they promise to get you off the hook for your accumulated debt. “So that you can keep your present lifestyle”

That last line just kills me, absolutely clueless and disgusting.
