Now that Cain backtracked somewhat - he just opened himself up to further attacks, especially in the next debate where his critics will point to his changes and Cain will have to defend his plan even more

So what? Why can't he modify and adjust it - it shows he cares what people think. Americans like that.

I'd rather have a candidate that fine-tunes his major plans than one who is so arrogant that they thinks that it's his way or the highway!

Mitt Romney would NEVER admit that his Romney Care plan was a mistake.

Michelle Bauchman could NEVER say her ability to bring gas down to $2.00 was a mistake.

Rick Perry would NEVER say in-state-tuition for illegals and paving amnesty for them through education is a mistake.

Santorum would NEVER admit to losing the Republican nomination in Pennsylvania or endorsed Arlen Specter. The only other candidate that I admire is Newt Gingrich. He's not part of the circular firing squad! The POLITICIANS can criticize Mr. Cain all they want. A real leader solves problems - recognizes when the solution needs to be changed to make the solution work more quickly - and goes into action!

GO HERMAN - YOU HAVE MORE THAN EMBRACED AMERICA - DON'T WASTE YOUR LAST NERVE ON POLITICAL HACKS!

...Now that Cain backtracked somewhat - he just opened himself up to further attacks, especially in the next debate where his critics will point to his changes and Cain will have to defend his plan even more....

Not at all Cain is a shrewd businessman..start negotiating high and then after sticker shock, drop some parts that are most objectionable....better than starting low and raising the ante...I expected this to happen...its all part of negotiating. We ae always complaining about GOP poor negotiating and starting low..well this is the way to do it...I suspect he has one more tweak to present a little longer down the road...its like he responded to criticism and compromised....people are more apt to accept something they had a part in molding...it show he is firm but open to suggestions...

Herman needs to tweak his 9-9-9 plan, then greatly improve his explanations beyond the “apples and oranges” examples, and then he would have a viable plan that should help even more in the campaigns ahead.

He isn't really backtracking. The provision for relief for those below the poverty line is already in the economic analysis available on his web site. He just needs to clarify the message.
