Economist Who Helped Cain Craft 9-9-9 Plan Backs Away From Sales Tax (Ruh Ro)

One of the key economists who helped presidential candidate Herman Cain draft his 9-9-9 tax plan is backing away from the most controversial component of it, warning that the criticism Cain endured at Tuesday night's Republican presidential debate shows his proposed 9 percent national sales tax might have to go.

"It was such a dart board," economist Stephen Moore said Wednesday of the proposal.

Cain weathered a storm of complaints over his tax plan at the Republican debate in Las Vegas. Virtually every candidate took turns accusing the businessman of pushing a scheme that would introduce new streams of revenue and hit the middle class hardest.

Are you saying Cain’s entire campaign was based on 9-9-9? That’s a slap in the face to TEA Party conservatives every where. The 9-9-9 plan does a lot to stimulate the economy, add stability to the system, create jobs and bring the those outside of the system inside. But it is an idea for only one piece of what the president, as part of the govt., is responsible for handling. Conservative principles go farther than just designing a new tax plan. Cain has many more ideas on how to get this country back on track.

The other candidates, including Obama, have barely come up with their first one yet. So Cain is still way ahead of the game.

Oh no the Troll Police caught me red handed. LOL… And in your little mind a Troll is defined as exposing Cain the TALKER insane 9-9-9 tax plan? Not liking Cain the TALKER because he is not qualified to be President since he has no governing record? Seriously get a life and start learning how to make rational arguments rather than accuse those who you do not like as Trolls.

Who said this:

"Romney is the best hope for Republicans to retake the White House. Conservatives will have to keep his feet to the fire like we did with George W. Bush on immigration, Harriett Myers, etc." - teddyballgame1

Why it was you!

Why should I pay any attention to anything else you say?

Go back to Mittens and tell him its over. He can go back to which ever one of his homes he wants to live in. We won't be needing his services nor will we be calling on him to help.

Just say no to Mittbots.

I like Cain - I’ll say it again but his plan needs to hold up under scrutiny. I’d vote for Cain in a minute over Obama and almost all the Republican field. Some thin skin in here.

You are a liar. Just like your socialist McRomney. Do you want me to post the full quote which shows exactly where your support is and where it is not? Why not?

I like Cain, I don’t know how many times I gotta say it. I predicted he’d say something stupid last night on foreign policy and he did right before the debate in an interview with Wolf Blitzer - he suggested he’d swap Al Qeada members for a U.S. hostage (he later recanted to his credit). I’m worried he’s not vetted and his signature plan will sink him. In my opinion, it’ll come down to either Cain or Romney (Perry has been a disaster) and EITHER one would be an improvement over Obama.

Waryone,

I’d ignore teddyballgame1 and his TROLL buddy jgge. They’re currently starring in the Wizard of Oz as the guy behind the curtain. The two are all uptight and crying, “Troll Police!”, and, “We’re Troll’s because we disagree!” BS. They actually believe we’d fall for the curtain, smoking mirrors, and fire act.

As if FReepers will be convince of that line. Unlike jgge and teddyballgame1, our posting history tells another story.

Art Laffer has endorsed the 999 plan because Art Laffer is one of the authors of the plan, along with Stephen Moore, and Rich Lowrie.

No idea where you got that info but .. Moore was just on Cavuto's tearing parts of the plan apart!

My apologies.

You were correct that Moore helped in the plan.
Anyone else tired of these ‘so-called’ experts who will NEVER stand by what they ‘expertly’ helped in putting together!?
