I really wish that people would stop referring to Islam as a religion.
It is a sociopolitical philosophy. Exactly the same as Marxism. The Koran is on par with the Communist Manifesto or Mein Kampf.
Nothing more.
If we ever managed to accomplish your wish, we will have preserved freedom in the US. Just changing the language from "religion" to "ideology" would accomplish this. We'd have to discipline every conservative to learn to say "Islamic ideology"--and it would take a long time, at that.
