My guess is that you have never been to Big Bend National Park or seen Lake Falcon and Amistad. You can’t build a fence around a canyon or lakes.
Everybody likes the Israeli fence. So do I. It would work perfectly from Chula Vista to El Paso.
But the Israelis didn't build a fence on the River Jordan between the West Bank and Jordan. For a very good reason: you don't fence off a river in a semi-arid landscape. People, livestock and wildlife need access to what might be the only watersource for fifty miles.
Moreover, a fence limits access from your side...and yields effective control of the river to the other side.
It's not that hard to understand.
On the other hand, a series of armed outposts aren't hard to understand, either.
So since a fence would be impractical in Big Bend and Lake Falcon you’re saying what, that a fence should not be built where one can be built?
How about along the border in Hudspeth County? Should we build a fence there?
