I just don't think Perry wanted the Presidency from the get go...He loves being Governor...but it would seem big corperations and other interested parties put the pressure on him to run...probably with some back door business deals to sweeten the pie, as this is how Perry operates in his "pay to play" style.
GW was the same way, imo. Not so much after 9.11 and the second campaign but certainly the first run. I always felt he was pressured into it by TPTB.
