Rick Perry.
I guess it depends on who he’s talking to, but he was only joking, but he wasn’t.
“Cincinatus’ Wife” is becoming to Herman Cain what “Pissant” was to Sarah Palin.
Nice smear job. Make an issue of what a Dem did recently while obfuscating the donation Cain was made in 1993.
Hmm a mere 5 years after Perry was Al Gore's Texas campaign manager
ping to the Perry camp attacking the only man who stands between Mitt Romney and the Republican nomination

He gave $250 to Jose Serrano in 1993...
How do you know this guy wasn’t moderate in 1993?
He gave $250.00 to a democrat he knew in 1994. Is this what you’re posting about? It just reeks of Perry desperation.
How dare you post an article questioning Herman Cain. Didn’t you know only positive articles about Cain are supposed to be posted.
"All but one of Cains contributions to Democrats went to candidates in Nebraska, where Godfathers Pizza, the company Cain led from 1986 to 1996, had been headquartered for more than 35 years: In 1993, Cain gave $500 to former Nebraska Gov. Bob Kerrey and $250 to New York Rep. Jose Serrano. In 1994, Cain wrote a check for $500 to former Nebraska Rep. Peter Hoagland. Two years later, he gave $500 to Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson and in 1998, he donated another $500 to Omaha newscaster Michael Scotts campaign for Congress.
They were business decisions and personal decisions, Cain told The Ticket when asked about the donations to Democrats. One was a restaurateur. One was a personal friend. All moderate Democrats.
National Review now has their long knives out for Cain, big time.

In 1993, Perry, while serving as Texas agriculture commissioner, expressed support for the Clinton health care reform proposal, describing it as most commendable. The health care plan was ultimately unsuccessful due to Republican congressional opposition.[23][24][25][26][27] In 2005, after being questioned on the issue by a potential opponent in the Republican governor primary, Perry said that he expressed his support only in order to get Clinton to pay more attention to rural health care.[28]
And what was Rick Perry doing in 1993 when Cain gave a $250 campaign donation to a Democrat?

Petition Governor Perry to Call Special Legislative Session to End In-State Tuition for Illegal Immigrants
The Honorable Rick Perry
Office of the Governor
P.O. Box 12428
Austin, TX 78711
Dear Governor Perry:
I am deeply disappointed that Texas tax dollars are being used to subsidize the college tuition of illegal immigrants in the state of Texas. The Texas government, especially in these troubling economic times, should not be subsidizing the higher education of adults who cannot legally work in the United States.
Governor Perry, I request you to immediately call a special session of the Texas Legislature in order to end the policy of providing in-state tuition and financial aid for illegal aliens at Texas public universities.
Thousands of United States citizens are currently paying $20,000/year more than illegal immigrants to attend college in Texas; illegal immigrants are also receiving tuition waivers and state financial aid. As a candidate running for the office of President of the United States of America, I ask you to put the interests of American citizens before the interests of citizens of foreign countries, especially those foreign citizens residing in the United States illegally.
Please end this unfair policy, which harms American students and rewards criminal behavior.
Sincerely,

Wow! It turns out that Herman “I love TARP” Cain supports liberal Democrats. Why am I not surprised? I am also not surprised that knowing that fact won’t make a lick of difference to the millions of so-called conservatives that are under the spell of the former Federal Reserve Boss. Is it any wonder that this country is circling the toilet bowl.
It was idiotic for some on this thread to have trashed and smeared Perry in past weeks. It is equally idiotic to do the same to Cain now.
Why can't you people on both sides see that all your griping is doing is boosting Romney and ultimately Obama?
A few days ago I thought Perry still had a decent amount of support here on Free Republic, that was until I payed more attention and noticed almost all pro-Perry articles and replies were being posted by the same people. It seems Perry has about 3 supporters here.
They dont understand we will never support Perry because he gave illegals in-state tuition. He has even hurt himself in Texas, and now the in-state tuition law for illegals will probably get repealed which is the only good thing to come from Perrys failed campaign.
At what point in his life did Mr.Cain see the light and become a Republican? I would guess he voted for many Dems. And, how does this affect his job as POTUS?
