The Peacock is looking like a bedraggled starling at the start of its first fall TV season in Comcast's nest.
Three weeks in, overall viewership, according to the Nielsen Co., is up at CBS and Fox, and down less than 1 percent at ABC, vs. year-ago numbers.
But at NBC, it's down 6 percent.
More ominous: Despite a new entertainment boss and a large bump in spending on program development, NBC has seen the average viewership of its five new series drop a stunning 28 percent from levels achieved by last year's five new series in the first three weeks of the season.
NCIS is my favorite show and about the only thing I watch on TV (USA reruns). I think gay/lib writers took over. I’m really disappointed in the way the show is going. They are making Gibbs into a criminal, Tony looks like a cartoon character, McGee looks weak and depressed and Ziva sits around and looks pretty. They’re going to make Gibbs cry on the program at some point or another.
I guess they are going for the female audience now. Too much family stuff for me and not enough bad guys getting theirs. They are also recycling plots. As my daughter says she likes shows and movies with guns, guts and guys, which NCIS had at the beginning. They also started out very pro-America and pro-military. Now, they have very little of that. It was fun while it lasted.
The network shows are universally awful. How many “tough” lady lawyers and cops can we stand? Or perverse shows with nonstop sexual content?
When are we going to be able to pick and choose which channels we want on cable? I watch sports and HGTV, and my husband watches history documentaries and movies. The rest is useless.
And it really bothers me when the networks (especially Fox!) insert inappropriate material in the ads for their sleazy shows and air them during sports programming. There are many youngsters who watch sports, and they don’t need to be exposed to this gutter humor.
You should be able to plug an external antenna into you dish receiver and pull in over the air broadcasts.
true dat. Unfortunately the actors, writers, etc etc have all moved on, and it was the whole mixture that made the show what it was. Don’t think they would ever be able to recapture that.
Other than football, I won't watch their garbage either. Promoting jerks like Alex Baldwin and Keith Olbermann is the reason why.
They can put any kind of crap on. They can take it back off too. In the meantime, we’ll be watching Gaki no Tsukai and more real entertainment on the internet.
Is it national CBS? I haven’t seen anything about my local CBS.
UpCHUCK All Night starring Christina Applegate
I am happy that Miss Applegate lived to do another series, but it is gawdawful!
How can you watch NCIS for God’s sake... after all, there was a line that made fun of Sarah Palin in an episode a few years ago... (/sarcasm) :D
I get NCIS & NCIS-LA via iTunes and watch them without commercials :)
I watched the the first couple shows and like them.
Then Harry showed her liberal a$$ and poof, I was gone.
Same with Bones. A couple seasons ago the first two episodes featured Angela in a gay relationship and another I disapproved of and I dumped that one .
My favorites now are Dexter and Homeland (Morena Baccarin, hubba hubba). Both on Showtime If you haven't watched Homeland it's terrific. A spy/Manchurian Candidate type show.
The first 3 episodes are on this Sat at 9pm. Warning, Homeland has nudity. The aforementioned star.
and this morning I saw an ad for a Trojan Vibrator, complete with “testimonials” on BBC America, which I watch for Doctor Who and Top Gear. sigh..

I really should watch it that way too. I am getting pretty sick of the amount of commercials that are on now a days. I was that back in the 70’s, 1 hour tv shows were norally about 47 minutes with 13 minutes of commercials. Today the shows are around 37-42 minutes of show with 23-18 minutes of commercials. It is getting out of hand.
have you seen BLue Bloods on cbs..now in its seciond season..Tom Selleck plays the NYC Police Commissioner, and there’s a notable lack of PC content....pretty good show..
NBC used to own Thursday nights.

Cut your satellite, Cable and all newspaper / magazine subscriptions. Write a letter and send copies to every corporation that make the products you use. Tell them why you cut your subscriptions. Tell the corporations that there is still the internet and talk radio to reach customers.
