Mayor Carolyn A. Kirk, Democrat Gloucester Massachusetts, pleads for President Obama to stop new regulations driving small businesses out of business. This Mayor "of the oldest fishing port in America" voted for Obama, went to his inauguration, and says she is now, "Losing Faith in Our Government." Kirk pleads for the President to get personally involved and stop the Commerce Department's overzealous enforcement of fishing regulations (something the Commerce Department Inspector General just slammed NOAA for) and the costly and burdensome regulations brought on by The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) new "Catch Shares" commercial fishing scheme. Kirk reiterates her invitation for President Obama to come to her city to see firsthand the problems NOAA has wrought on her city.

“This Mayor “of the oldest fishing port in America” voted for Obama, went to his inauguration, and says she is now, “Losing Faith in Our Government.”

In other words: ‘I am a moron AND I admit it’

Well, that's a step in the right direction.

Why doesn’t anyone do anything about this? Where is Scott Brown? Where are the presidential candidates? Palin was the only one who paid any attention at all to this and even she didn’t call the president out on what he’s doing to these people in a real and public way.

Why doesn’t anyone do anything about what is going on in our government? It appears Mr Issa is doing a great job but will it go anywhere? I feel I have been “sold out”/

I’m sorry, but that’s not enough. People are losing their livelihoods and he’s ‘supporting her’? How? From behind a desk? Proposing legislation?

People don’t know about this. Someone with a national stage needs to call attention to this and call the president out. Use it as a prime example of regulations gone wild.

Call this man out for claiming to be on the side of ‘the little guy’ while putting the little guy out of business.

The fishing regulations are just the beginning of a regulatory juggernaut that will roll through and crush the US economy. The EPA regulations on coal fired power plants that will take effect in November may soon leave large parts of the country with rolling blackouts and lots of Americans shivering or sweltering in darkened homes because they cannot afford their electric bills. Obama for once told the truth when during the 2008 campaign he said that environmental regulations on coal plants will necessarily cause electric rates to skyrocket.

When she loses faith in Obama, get back to us.

Rahm is that you?

Scott Brown has been fighting this for a long time while John Kerry has been in support of this job losing policy. Brown has pushed legislation, held hearings, promted an inspector general report. The man is on this.

Kerry and Obama are letting his citizens down and this Dem just had enough as you can see.

Looks like that liberal mayor was just metaphorically mugged. She’ll probably still vote D, but maybe her constituents won’t be so eager.
