Yup and just look at the pages of verbal acrobatics they have jumped through to avoid admitting it.

I question their conservatism AND their loyalty because they are displaying loyalty to ILLEGAL ALIENS over their own country.

Their words here are all the proof required.

Why don’t you try to breach the border of a sovereign nation other than the US.... you betcha they will shoot your ass off. Mexico will shoot you just for looking wrong.

There were people speaking here against hte fence. But, much like Cain’s “killer electric fence”, most of us realised that “build the fence” wasn’t a serious call to build a fence around our entire country, so we didn’t really think it was worth arguing over a slogan and a soundbite.

For the purpose of defeating the immigration bill, “build the fence” was the perfect slogan. Don’t take that as some universal acceptance of a fenced-in country. I’m certain that you do not support building a fence along the gulf or pacific coasts, so you aren’t really a “full fence everywhere” person either. You just have a different sense of where the “strategic fencing” should be built.

And I still don’t mind supporting a candidate who says “build the fence”, or even a candidate who claims they will build a fence along the entire border. Because I DO want a fence where it makes sense, and in the end, NO candidate once elected is going to build a fence where it doesn’t make sense.

When they get down to it, they will hire people, and those people will be smart, and will evaluate the border, and will make recommendations, and the person we elect will realise that strategic fencing is the way to go. Perry already KNOWS this because he actually has to defend a border. Most don’t, because they have never done a THING to secure a border.

Heck, I wouldn’t even disqualify Cain for saying he’d build a killer electric fence. It’s a stupid thing to say, but I know he’ll never build it, or even an electric fence, because he’s a smart guy and will understand when his smart advisors explain that his billion-dollar electric fence can be circumvented with a dollar’s worth of copper wire and a rock.

You know what the “electric fence” would be good for? If you wired it right, the shorting out would indicate a crossing, so we’d know where to go to catch them. That’s boots on the ground, and you don’t actually need the fence or the elctricity to do that, just some good ground sensors. We can detect subs entering our territorial waters, we can certainly figure out how to detect people crossing our border, and send interceptors to stop them.

Perry believes in border security, he disagrees with you on how to achieve that goal.

My Step-Dad... H.W., Ret. A.F Msgt.. (God rest his soul)...use to tell us that the biggest threat to this country was to the south of us. This was during Iran-contra crappola.... He was right. He said we had the equivalent of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict only driven by drug lords - right on the edge of our country with NO protection for the violence spilling over into the USA. He was right. He passed away in the late 1980's.

(You were a wise man H.W.... God bless you).

You are right in many points in your post. The real tragedy in all this (so far) is that Perry was at 41 percent and now is at around 7 percent. It is not over but really eventually the Perry supporters are going to have to analyze and make some decisions. Tonight is going to be very telling. I am very excited to see how the candidates do. It is possible that tonight is make or break for some. I would imagine that you are hoping that Perry does well. Eventually he probably will....after going through enough debates eventually you should get with the program. Well until the debate, have a great day!!!!!

So, you selectively quote from a comment everybody can read, so you can lie about what I said, and you think that is a rational debating tactic?

Did you know that everybody can click on a link and read what I actually said, and so they will all know you are a liar and a fool?

My 2008 support for Mitt Romney is no secret, except to some clueless people.

You have a hard time with your reading comprehension, and I don’t wonder why at all.

Anyone whose ever spent time in Mexico knows the deal. The bleeding heart American libs think everyone thinks like them.

Like Ronaldus Magnus said...”Their problem is that they know so many things that aren’t so”.

I have been searched at gunpoint down there by federalies with full auto HKs while covering Off-Road races. No biggie. That’s what they do and I have no issue with that. Their rules afterall. But to think that they are ‘kind and compassionate’ is NOT how things work.

I have a friend down there in their law enforcement as well. People disappear.

So your argument seems to be that we have every right to shoot them if we catch them crossing the border, but once they have gotten past some point, we have no right to shoot them?

You said “No one want sto kill them just because...”, but that’s what it means to shoot them just for crossing the border. And if you support shooting people who trespass, why does it matter whether we shoot them when they first trespass, or wait until later? What exactly DO you support?

Your remaining argument in nonsensical, and is the equivalent of saying that because I wouldn’t shoot a door-to-door salesman, I must be OK with an armed robber breaking into my house.

A country has a right to defend it’s borders, but not to use any means it feels like to do so, under any circumstances. We don’t shoot people for crossing borders. There are countries that do; but unless they are in a defacto state of war, we don’t support them.

If we are invaded by the mexican military, we can shoot them. If armed thugs come into our country, we should be shooting them.

Anyone who has traveled in Mexico/Baja since late 1960’s, early 1970’s would know you would inevitably run into a military style inspection (inland) from Federale soldiers completely armed and ready to shoot to kill.

A Mittbot is some one who when confronted with Mitt’s obvious liberal positions, excuses them and thinks conservatives should not be so dogmatic about our principles. They are people who will say anything to cloud the issue at hand in order to make Mitt look good.

That was not Herman Cain. That was you. Absurd was when an audience booed Mitt’s wanting gays in the military answer and you argued they were just booing the question.

I understand Cain completely. He sounds just like me and millions of other conservatives. We understand him. You are the one who wants to paint him as a liar. That you are still up to the slimy tricks you tried four years ago does not surprise me one bit.

Hmm, you seem to have misconceptions about many things.

Old 2002 article about mexican's southern border

2010 article by Michelle Malkin about Mexican's southern border enforcement

1996 article about Mexico enforcing it's southern border

Gateway Pundit 2010 article about Mexico building a fence on their southern border

I could do more, but that runs a pretty good gamut.

Now, would you be so kind as to look at any of those links, or find your own link, to support the implication you have made (I note that you NEVER seem to actually SAY anything, you just imply it), that Mexico is SHOOTING people? There's all sorts of information about them agressively arresting people, and building a fence. They have a law that makes illegal entry a felony punishable by 2 years detention. They are strict on their border, while asking us to be lenient.

It is sad though that you have been so confused as to think they actually shoot illegals on sight as part of a normal policy.

Mexico has a more severe problem with drug traffickers on their southern border than we do -- but they don't have a policy of killing border crossers on sight, as you implied.

Again, you are welcome to go through my many links I have provided for your edification, or provide your own, to support your spurious claim.

Or you could continue to show your ignorance.

I traveled the length of Baja in the late 90s/early 2000s on a number of occasions covering the races and went through the drill and had my truck searched repeatedly. The first lesson there is do whatever you are told. If you do that, odds are its all cool.

Unnerving, but the price you pay.

You f with them, you go bye bye and the Federalie Capt. gets a new truck to drive. Thats reality.

Today, I’d NEVER thing to go there for love nor money.

Your ignorance is legion. The Mexican government has breached our border and fired upon our officers numerous times. You choose to believe Janet Napolitano... telling in itself... when it comes to our security. Amazing you are in your ignorance.

Most Americans are so sick of coddling illegals and potential terrorists (Muslims) that we’ll accept his apology while hoping he will be that tough as President.

Look, if a man pees on a tram wire, he will die (unpleasantly). If Mexicans or OTMs climb onto clearly marked electrical fences, same thing. I have no problem. We don’t have signs around lakes, Be Careful. Falling In May Cause Drowning.

You support “obeying the law”. But that is no answer. Do you support KILLING people who break that law?

I live in Virginia, which you could have found by clicking my name, but that’s OK. We have a severe illegal immigration problem, especially in my county. My county cracked down on illegals, and gained some national notoriety for doing so. We are agressively part of the 287G program, we have a police policy of checking EVERY detained individual for their immigration status. I support our work, and am a vocal, public advocate against illegal immigrants.

But nobody here has EVER proposed killing illegals. The very notion is absurd. Your suggestion that “obeying the law” means we can kill people who trespass would be disturbing if you meant it, but you have yet to actually be able to say the words, so I’m guessing you can’t bring yourself to admit you’d kill another human being just for trespassing into your country. You’d need a good reason to take a life.

I don’t think anybody here wants illegals running around unaccounted for. We have too much of that. Rick Perry wants to secure our borders, and to implement a more secure guest worker program so we don’t lose track of the legal immigrants, so we can make sure they leave when their visas expire. A fence doesn’t help that problem.

And while illegals are certainly a problem, moreso in Virginia than many other states, but a real problem, they are not what is “ruining” this country. Our country has had very prosperous times even with illegals here. We had 4.5% unemployment average under Bush with all the illegals here.

Things are bad now because of Obama. I don’t think it helps us to scapegoat illegals as if THAT is what has destroyed our economy. The illegal problem needs to be taken care of. We have a real problem with illegal and legal immigrants who refuse to assimilate, who want to change us into their countries. That has to stop.

But not by killing them. Sorry, that is simply unacceptable.
