TX High School Students Made to Recite Mexican National Anthem, Pledge of Allegiance
The Blaze ^ | 10/17/2011 | n/a

Students in a Texas public high school were made to stand up and recite the Mexican national anthem and Mexican pledge of allegiance as part of a Spanish class assignment, but the school district maintains there was nothing wrong with the lesson.

Wearing red, white and green, students had to memorize the Mexican anthem and pledge and stand up and recite them in individually in front of the class.

That didn’t go over well with sophomore Brenda Brinsdon. The 15-year-old sat down and refused to participate. She also caught it all on video.

I just thought it was out of hand, I didn’t think it was right,” she told The Blaze. “Reciting pledges to Mexico and being loyal to it has nothing to do with learning Spanish.”

She said she was particularly offended because the presentations in teacher Reyna Santos’s class took place during “Freedom Week,” the week after the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks, and on U.S. Constitution Day — the same day as Mexico’s Independence Day.

“Why are we doing their independence when it‘s Freedom Week and it’s also Constitution Day?” Brinsdon said.

Brinsdon said she complained to the school principal, Yvette Cavazo, who told her it was part of the curriculum and that she should participate.

I answered this in detail in the other thread - but I learned French anthems and pledges in my French class.

We didn’t “Pledge” but we did recite. First year French lessons, and my teacher was cool (I wish I would have told her that back then, instead of busting her balls all day)

I don’t feel insulted that I was taught these songs and pledges, I DO feel insulted that I now know what a Burka is, and how it compares to a Hajib. I’m insulted that I am familiar with Eid, and I have Islamic holidays marked on a calendar.

If Texans are clueless about the horrific damage that socialist-funded, compulsory, and godless government schooling is doing to their communities, then it is hopeless for the rest of the nation.

If **Texans** can't see that government schooling must be abolished then, I do think our future as a representative republic is doomed.

I am very discouraged.

In the German class, they start out singing the “Horst Wessel Lied.”

That's funny, because I took French and we started with the same thing.

"Shouldn't they have been using SPAIN's stuff?............"

An excellent point, Red Badger. Funny how you mention "Spanish", and we FReepers all (understandably) focus on the foreign invasion from Mexico.

Apparently these idiots think the class is on learning to speak Mexican. If they were sincere they would be reciting the pledge to Spain and singing the Spanish Anthem.

I live about 30 miles north of McAllen and have lived here my entire life. This does not surprise me one bit. The majority of students are indoctrinated by teachers who seemed to be loyal to Mexico, rather than the U.S.A. They forget which country has given them the opportunity to succeed.

You have your head in the sand.

You learned the French anthems, and yet, we are/were NOT being invaded by the French to reclaim Louisiana.

Reconquista is real, LaRaza is real. Brainwashing children to think ‘Hispanic’ and normalizing the idea that we can be the USA while also being Mexico is insanity and tanatmount to suicide.

Head in the sand.

>>That would be a cold day in hell before they coerced me into reciting the Mexican national anthem. They could throw me into detention for a week.I still would refuse.<<

Would you go so far as to refuse to pay your taxes that support these godless, secular humanist preaching, socialist-funded, voter mob ruled, and compulsory government indoctrination camps?

Just wondering? ...What would be enough outrage for you to do that? Please remember that behind every government school teacher and principal in this nation stand **armed** police force.

By the way,....**Every** government school in this nation is:

—godless in its worldview. ( Children must think and reason godlessly just to cooperate in the classroom)

—Socialist-funded

—Preaches the religion of secular humanism ( It is impossible to have religiously neutral vacuum and **all** government schools in this nation establish the religion of secular humanism.)

—Managed by the voting mob ( mis-named “school board”)

—Compulsory for all those whose parents can not ransom them by way of homeschooling or private schooling. Merely by attending children learn to be comfortable under the compulsory yoke of the voting mob.

Don't mess with Texas? Sounds to me as if Texas is not going to do anything about this. Sounds to me as if Texas got messed with and doesn't have the testosterone to do anything about it.

Buncha pansies.

Well spoken family that raised an intelligent and perceptive child.

It is totally inappropriate (on Constitution Day!) to require students to stand individually and recite a pledge to another country.

The teacher said, it didn’t mean anything, it was just a lesson? As another freeper said, have her give the sinner’s or Lord’s Prayer in Spanish (that would have been a fun exercise!) and see how fast the mighty wheels of statist education would have torn into the child! It suddenly would have mattered a whole lot, I bet.

My husband and I run the Cub Scout troop for the Spanish speaking congregation of our denomination in our county. We speak Spanish fluently and are members in every way of their congregation.

I testify:

MEXICAN PARENTS DON'T WANT THIS!!! THEY WANT THEIR KIDS TO BE **AMERICANS**!!!!! THEY WANT THEIR KIDS IN ENGLISH ONLY CLASSES!

Yeah! I am shouting jumping up and down and having a fit. The only traitors who want this in our nation are the COMMUNISTS and SOCIALIST USEFUL IDIOTS ( communist-lites) who control government school indoctrination.

Don’t mess with Texas.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Where is the outrage? What has been done?

( crickets)

If **Texans** ( of all people) can't grasp the idea that godless, socialist-funded, and compulsory government education produces a godless people that is comfortable with socialism and government compulsion,...then our nation is lost! It is hopeless!

If **Texans** ( of all people) can't see that all godless and socialist-funded government indoctrination must be abolished, then our experiment in self-rule is doomed to fail.
