The notion they would try taking on Cain when they have been afraid to even try on Barry is absurd.

They're absolutely not "afraid of Barry" in any way shape or form. Barry is doing their work FOR THEM!

They want Barry to have as smooth going as possible bcuz he's already doing what's bad for America & what's good for THEM.

Putin & Ahmadinejad would make a Cain Presidency a living nightmare (aided by the U.S. Media) so that America in 2016 would go running back into the arms of the liberal Dems, and in the meantime they would use Cain's amateurish inexperience to their advantage.

Herman Cain who truly was until recently a virtual unknown had faith enough in himself to decide to run for President of the United States on his own. There was no Media hype/pressure/build-up about a possible run, there was no urging by members of the Party, no words spoken into his ear by party players, elites, beltway boys or pundits, not even a word of encouragement from the Republican Party of his home state only faith in himself. Now after months of being treated as being a inconsequential candidate the curious sideshow of a conservative black Republican, he is now in the top tier along with people of great party pull, of men with experienced political machines and the dollars to power them. He did that on his own with no help from anyone except by his own. Now think what a man with faith in himself like that could accomplish if given the chance.
Now many are saying Cain hasn’t a chance with his little formal organization and even less money.
Well let me remind all of you of what a recent movement did with no formal organization and even less money, The Tea Party.
The Tea Party manage with both those weakness to go on and seriously change the political landscape and in doing so caused the Leftist members of government, elitist of both political parties and media types to quake in fear of them and their wrath and all done with only a minimum of formal organization and on a ‘shoe string’ budget.
That’s what successful AMERICANS do, what they have always done! It’s what makes us WINNERS! They start out with what they have and they MAKE IT WORK! They make it work because what they don’t have in manpower or money they make-up with brains, sweat, blood and last but most important faith.

I’m not in the Cain camp but that was a darn good interview. David Gregory started out hostile and ended up eating out of Cain’s hand.

He’s saying those running the government want to ruin it.

Not exactly. Cain is saying they want to destroy the "country", not the "government". That's like saying they want to destroy my condo community (rather than the company we hire to manage it).

I actually thought Gregory asked some tough questions that Cain needed to answer.

Here's one I wish he would have asked...

A farmer grows some wheat... he buys the seed, fertilizer & new EQ. Does he pay the 9% Fed Sales tax on all those? Currently, he gets to write those things off as business expenses and pay NO tax.

OK, he tacks on the 9% to the price of his wheat & sells the wheat to a flour maker. Does the flour maker pay 9% Fed Sales Tax on the wheat? Does the baker who buys the flour pay 9% Fed Sales Tax that he wasn't paying before?

Before 9-9-9, all these things were tax WRITEOFFS. Don't they all have to be added to the price of final product?

“Stretch” Gregory couldn’t pour yellow liquid out of a boot if he read the instructions on the heel. Best he’s qual’d for is chopping brush down at Cuz’n Junior’s place in Texas. And he ain’t worth the food that requires.
Other than that, he’s a poster child of what N*C stands for.

Exactly right. Either

1) this is the Peter Principle in play - those in power have reached their highest level of incompetence, or

2) they are purposefully trying to destroy things.

There is one other possible solution, which is

3) that Government has simply grown so big and unwieldy that it can’t get out of its own way anymore.

The first two means fire everyone there, the third one means fire 2/3 of the people there.

WAY TO GO JOHNNIE.

GIVE IT TO ‘EM GOOD AND HARD!

I for one am dang sick of all this squishy stuff trying to attract the “independents”, as well as the “we can run the welfare state better” stuff instead of saying and doing what needs to be done.

It is also quite pleasant not to have to listen to some scripted puppet of Tokyo Rove and the RINO GOP establishment to which Santorum, Perry, Willard and NOOT owe their alliegance.

After reading your home page, I wonder WHY you are not on the Cain Train.

Is it a Ya-Ya Sisterhood thing, or do you like your men to have nice hair?

I’m not trying to down you. I’m just wondering.

I'm not a big fan of 9-9-9, but that can be handled in Congress. Everything else is great - sock it to them Cain, including those malcontents "Occupy" brats.

I so look forward to a Cain/Obama debate!!!!

It wouldn’t be a requirement to repeal the 16th before the income tax could be suspended but it certainly ought to be part of the package to repeal it. If it is left in place then the income tax could be restarted at any time. It needs to be killed with a stake driven through the heart of it.

The 16th needs to be killed REGARDLESS of 9-9-9.

OK, he tacks on the 9% to the price of his wheat & sells the wheat to a flour maker. Does the flour maker pay 9% Fed Sales Tax on the wheat? Does the baker who buys the flour pay 9% Fed Sales Tax that he wasn't paying before?

The point Cain made, or tried to, in the interview, was that there are taxes currently factored into prices, and when those taxes disappear, prices will come down; Gregory asked how? competition will bring prices down, said Cain.

The answer is simplistic. The current tax laws are so impossibly complex, I don't see how anyone can put a 9-9-9 type of plan into effect without years of chaos in between. But that's what he said. Presumably most people's extra taxes are to be offset by lower prices.

Among the things I think he hasn't considered very carefully: most people, or at least about half, don't pay taxes now, and yet they do a lot of purchasing. They might do a lot less if prices don't go down as fast as the taxes go up, and that sales tax thing is going on right away, whereas competition and market adjustments take time.

In other words, say half the people don't pay taxes (except the current "hidden" taxes in sales, and perhaps state sales taxes). Suddenly they're paying 9% more on everything, including food. They might just cut back.

Even though it may be, at first and in intention, "good" tinkering with the free market, it's still tinkering and the government is going to find it irresistible to interfere, correct, and adjust things during the interval between application of 9-9-9 and the end result that Cain envisions.

In other words I am not convinced you can get to Z from his A.

Not to mention the reaction of foreign countries and some trade agreements here and there...
