Wow, is that legal? That's for the lawyers to work out. But $2,750 a month, a rate unchanged since 1972, was an insane giveaway. $2,750 a month, for a WHOLE BUILDING in the Wall Street area? There are people paying that for an apartment in that area.

No kidding, my daughter is paying $4,000.00 per month for a one bedroom, 788 sq. ft. apartment in Manhattan. I keep telling her to move to Jersey or one of the outer boroughs, but she refuses to even consider the idea from her old man. I just shake my head.

It was the retroactive part that bothered me; however, kingu explained how that works. I agree that $2,750 a month since 1972 was quite a sweetheart deal.
