WASHINGTON Newt Gingrich is calling Republican presidential campaign rival Mitt Romney "a Nelson Rockefeller Republican" who will have a hard time appealing to the GOP's base.

well, he is.
as were the bushes.
as is karl rove and dana pe-rino.
Go, NOOT! Take off the gloves!
Well, at least Perino is easy on the eyes.
Despite some questions, Cain looks better and better, and I think Zer0's campaign is nervous about going head to head with him. Watching the Sunday gabfests it seems all the MSM is pushing Romney and dismissing Cain more than ever. To me that says it's Cain.
The MSM and libs love Romney. A race between 2 liberals is their wet dream.
Romney is worse, he is a flip flopper par excellence. Nelson Rockefeller was not even close to Romney on flip flops. They are close however, in ideology.
Wow! Another candidate other than Perry is finally going after Romney.
‘bout time. Thanks, Newt.
I haven’t seen Cain go after Romney on much of anything, except “my 9-9-9 plan is simpler than your 59 point plan, Mitt”
I think this is more evidence that Newt is over the hill and his good years are long gone. Probably there aren’t many people who even remember who Nelson Rockefeller was; his run for the Presidency was in 1964, almost half a century ago.
I know he would never take it but Newt would be the most fun ever as White House Press Secretary.
How about this. How about the Perry-bots try telling why we should be FOR their candidate instead of practicing the Romney camp Campaign SOP of trash talking everyone else?
hmmm- maybe because he was a strong supporter of Romney last time?
Maybe because they've got a deal - VP slot?
Why are his attacks so subtle that no one remembers them?
Glad I scrolled down.
I was going to say I hoped he explained his answer to the audience because there were probably very few who understood what he meant.
Cain is a product of a business mindset of a methodical planning agenda. He is not the product of a “shoot from the lip” mentality of your typical politician. If you pay attention to some of his comments yesterday, he is methodically moving towards bringing the heat of truth and not just accusations against Mitt who is adept at deflecting accusations. What he has problems addressing is the truth.
Herman saw this in the last debate just as a good field commander will poke at the enemy’s defenses to find the most logical point of weakness for his attack to first divide and outflank the enemy. Businessmen calculate, politicians react.
Cain Hearts Romney! And Romney said a vote for Cain was just like voting for him. (NH, night before debate)
Rockefeller Republican? LOL. More like an Obama Democrat.
Two points on Nelson Rockefeller:
1) He served as Vice President under Ford until January 1977.
2) A “Rockefeller Republican” is an apt description of Mittens and is a widely-understood and accepted political term for a wealthy, northeast, liberal republican - used to derisively hang a label on a politician such as, well, Romney.
