The “war on drugs” has been used and abused. But let’s not imagine a psychoactive Eden in it’s absence. Self-control and intoxication have always had a rocky public relationship, tempting intervention.
Who imagines that? I see no sign of it in the article. Intoxication is bad - but as Prohibition taught its contemporaries and should have taught us, trying to eradicate intoxication through force of law is worse.
