We agree that abortion is the killing of life, regardless of the stage in which it is committed. But, I see a difference between a fully functioning outside the womb child that is prescient opposed to the early stages of development where there is no prescient functioning. Abortion of a fetus in the later stages of pre-natal development, where the fetus feels pain, I equate with the pain and suffering of an sexually abused child.
Suppose a murder were committed by somehow administering an anesthetic to a person, then slaying them while unconscious. Would that be less than Murder 1?
