Not actually. We won decisively in military action. The lying bastard Water Cronkite falsely reported that we lost, and the rest of the MSM (sole source of information then) played along.

Even the South Vietnamese did well at holding the line and forcing the North to retreat, UNTIL the DemoRat traitors in Congress cut off their funding and ammunition.

The Rats have been traitors since WWII.

I followed it all and do remember it vividly. The RVNs did well with US air support. When we withdrew it they crumpled. It is true that Congress cut off aid at the end, but they still had huge stockpiles in place. In any case, the whole goal of the NV was to bleed us until the American public got sick and demanded a withdrawal. They had a lot of help from various people on the left, but more than anything people just got sick of the war. Personally I blame Johnson for getting us into a war with no real plan to win. I just don’t see any comparison with Iraq.
