“I simply disagree that a wall is feasible. I think other ways might be more effective.”
Perry’s been my governor for a DECADE and he could care less what the people of the state think...and doesn’t change direction until there’s a near revolution (and the potential for huge political damage). He has yet to back off of saying that little girls should be shot up with Gardacil...he’s only said that he did it wrong.
Cain...we don’t know, but I trust that he at least will listen to people, and I know that he CANNOT be any worse than Perry in this area (not possible for anyone to be).
Well, I don’t see what Gaurdisil has to do with building a wall.
Perry has been my governor for a decade as well.
I have lived here all my life.
Perry appears to listen when the populace speaks. If Herman gets the nomination..I hope he does the same. But like you said..we don’tknow.
Let’s face it..an electrified fence would come from the federal level. In today’s world..it ain’t gonna happen.
Just for reference..I don’t plan to vote for Perry in the primary..at this time. He could win me back..we’ll see.
Perry isn’t the best...he isn’t the worst.
I see a lot of hatred toward Perry from you while lurking. Who do you support?
You are just wrong about Gardasil.
First, the Governor had legislative authority to do what he did.
Second, he gave the opt out more publicity than it had ever had before and made that opt out easier.
Third, Children on Medicaid, CHIPS, Indian Health Service and who didn’t have insurance were and are getting the vaccine free of charge to them, on the Vaccines for Children Program, by Federal law.
It’s ethically made the same way we make insulin and the hepatitis B vaccines that all babies get these days. It’s safe - the current estimate is that 60 million doses have been given over the world, 30 or 40 million in the US. It’s the most asked for vaccine for girls and our parents are now asking for it for the boys.
The only reason for pap smears is to check for changes in the cells due to HPV.
We’re seeing a decrease in abnormal paps (along with the repeat paps that are the result) in young women, already. The more aggressive forms of HPV that cause changes in 5 years are the ones we’re stopping.
