We just got the updated numbers from city Budget Director Rebecca Rhynhart on the price tag for the Occupy Philadelphia protest.
For the first week, the city shelled out $230,000, mostly in police overtime to man the tent city that sprung up next to City Hall on Oct. 6. The other costs include setting up a police command center, as well as public property and sanitaiton expenses.
Rhynhart said that some of those expenses were one-time deals and that the overtime costs have been dropping, so the projected weekly expense going forward is $112,000.
These numbers do not include the use of straight police time -- redeploying officers already on duty. And Rhynhart said it wasn't yet clear if the costs would force the city to make further cuts to balance the budget

Thanks Kid Shelleen.
When we needed police presence a few years ago for an event in Atlanta, we actually had to pay the city for the use of the cops.
Typical pathetic freeloaders.
Send the bill to Soros.
How about sending bills to ALL Organizations for their “fair share” of costs associated with the causation of the costs to Taxpayers for the required expenses of their “love-in”?????
...or their parents.
We need about 623 more headlines like this and we’ll be set.
Those Obamavilles can really get expensive.

Someone should be keeping a running tally of the security costs for all of these “Occupations”. Canada spent about a billion dollars (that’s billion with a “b”) for security for last year’s G20 and G8 summits. The main reason for such a huge expense — to protect Toronto from the likes of the “Occupy” protesters.
even protests are on welfare.
TEA Partiers probably have to pay for their police protection
do the protesters have to live by the same assembly regulations as do the Mummers??
Little Rock, Arkansas is just beginning its cost tally today, and it looks as if a bill needs to be sent directly to the democratic party, judging from this thread.

Box of matches can’t be more than a couple bucks.
I’d prefer that we bill his estate.
