Those criticizing Cain really seem to be defending a tax system that is a thousand times worse than his very straightforward flat 999 plan. Strange how liberal conservatives become when they actually get what they say they want...hmmm maybe they don’t really believe in small govt afterall.
Herman Cain is the man!
“He said that citizen pressure would prevent lawmakers from gradually raising the tax rate”
Yeah, like that’s ever happened....lmao
LiberalSpeak:
Defending yourself against Liberal attacks: “lashing out”
What I would like to see with the 9-9-9 is shrinking government that would turn it into 5-5-5. Pay the bills while cutting the spending, and we won’t have to worry about 9-9-9 becoming 20-20-20. Herman is the man who can do it.
Can yall see the bulls eye on my back? he joked to the crowd of several hundred supporters who had gathered in a city park here to see Cain. His critics, he said, dont know how to respond to a real solution to a problem.]
This is ‘lashing’?? /:-\
Herman Cain’s 999 plan does more than eliminate the IRS.
It is a all out, armagedeon style, war on the Government Industrial Complex.
Our whole government is like a factory. That factory’s sole output is moving money....either from person to person, business to business, industry to industry, or generation to generation.
The elimination of the “progressive” income tax and the ability to slice and dice different exemptions and loopholes is what the government relies on to maintain its market share..ie, monopoly.
The 999 plan eliminates the actual purpose of our government as it is run right now.
There are whole industries, subcontractors, and business plans based upon the current govt. operation.
999 is fighting against every entrenched establishment entity that exists and it has nothing to do with party affiliation.
and pledged to pass it in his first 90 days in office
That would be a broken pledge unless the Senate changes hands by a wide majority. Very few things get thru the legislature in 90 days in DC.
Like the old saying goes, “No such thing as bad PR as long as they spell my name right”, and it’s spelled “Nine, Nine, Nine!”
He must be one angry black man to do all that “lashing” and “accusing”!
Listened to Herman Cain today on Fox Business News with Neil Cavuto...was so incredibly impressed, especially with his response to a question/comment dealing with his lack of foreign affairs’ experience. Cain hit it “out of the park.” I’m starting to become a believer!
Period.
Sure they have. Where's the version to pore over? It's not on his site. That's an outline.
To me, consumption taxes seem more fair, since those who consume the most end up paying the most tax. They also don't don't represent a massive intrusion into privacy rights, or discourage savings. The income tax does both of those.
What Cain should do on his website is this:
Offer a re-occurring campaign contribution of $9.99 a month.
Most people can afford $9.99 a month to support their favorite presidential candidate. Hey, it's just one less pizza a month!
Over 12 months, Cain will collect $119.88 from each contributor up until election day.
If six million people can participate in this program, this would result in $719.28 million being donated to his campaign. That's more than enough to run a first class campaign.
I was at that rally today. He hit on ALL cylinders. WaPo dare not mention the racial make up of the crowd because it was quit diverse. I agree though that the 9% national sales tax will be hard to get any traction, seeing as 47% of American’s pay zero income tax. They have no motivation to want to impose a sales tax on themselves, even if it is the only way back to prosperity.
